Yes, indeed, he is still an experienced squad member who had a great start to the season, plus those goals, then went off the boil after he returned from injury, perhaps too early and still carrying an injury.
iandovaston ‏@skydovaston My source tells me Blackburn's Junior Hoilett will now fly out to Germany over the weekend to speak with Borussia Moenchengladbach. hope thats not true
I suspect Mr Hoilett's advisors are playing the field and that we will say don't bother if it drags on. He's a good player and would be a great addition, but it wont be a disaster if it does not come off. Still think week need a centre mid more, and a right back, unless we think that Young/Dyer is enough.....
Seems they only suspended the betting at night cause they opened it up again this morning at 1/4. Now no one offers bets on his next club. They must know something. Maybe mr 99,9% put his money where his mouth is?
His father is his agent, and so is going all round the world to get the best price for his son. I still think we'll get him because I don't think we'll be bettered on wages offered, only thing is whether he's prepared to take a risk with li'l old QPR if a bigger club is interested in him. We'll have to wait and see.
David McIntyre ‏@davidmcintyre76 Hoilett scheduled for talks with Borussia Much-and-glad-back, where I've always thought he'd end up. More money at QPR though. We'll see.
I wouldnt say its all about money. He is close to his brother who is already out there and a few whispers that he would prefer to be near him. I get the feeling hes gona go to Germany. Would be a shame because he was the only one I was getting excited about. As well as the CB,we need wingers with pace...
Hmmmm... sense a lot of well managed negotiation, bluff and poker playing here. Tarbs signs and suddenly Hoilett interest seems to be cooling (was this a pressure tactic on Tarbs to make a decision or Hoilett would replace him?). I think Hoilett has made it hard for himself.. he lost Newcastle's interest, now ours.. he's possibly run out of options! Now interest in Ki Sung-Yueng and Bellamy. Which one? Feels like our management team are really playing the system - and turning the tables on the agents by having viable options for the positions that MH is looking to fill. Seeing a team not focused on one player alone shows a real professional approach by the Board.
Hoilett led the Munching Gladbacks a merry dance last month, the fact he's crawling back to them suggests his game of bluff has blown up in his face. He's using family as his agent which might explain some of the farce attached to this...
If we loose the race to sign him, I'd like them to focus a bit more on our defence. Someone mentioned its fine, but I personally would like to see another RB and possibly a CB......by the sounds of it, this isnt on the agenda at all, but we have litterally just signed loads of midfielders.
we need to put some faith into our current defence IMO. Hill was excellent last year, we have signed Fabio and Nelson: Nelson is a superb defender and comes ready to play in any team. Fabio is a very good player also. Nedum Onuoha I think is outstanding Anton again solid. We have excellent cover in the front of the back four and pace to burn on the flanks Luke Young as a back up , Traore is quick and sharp plus please do not forget Dyer and even Mackie! Green is a lot better on crosses than Paddy was. We are blessed if you look at it closely and I expect one or two more. As i have said expect more team this year to flood midfields as the English slowly changes. At home i think the idea will be attack attack attack .. away counter attack ... look at how we held City last game. MH likes to wait wait wait then bite and bite hard. I can see Derry also being used to hold out in a game or hold onto a lead.
