Shane Ferguson is 21 today, doesn't that mean that his current contract runs out today. I haven't heard anything about him being offered a new one. Be a pity to lose him because he's got a very good game in him.

I thought we gave him a new one until about 2016? I think it was the backend of the season before last (so May 2011 ish) I could very well be wrong though!
He's under contract until 2016 according to nufc.com - no way the club would let him go - he's definitely the most capable youngster we have at the moment, even if some others show more potential.
Hope we have got him tied down till 2016, I just thought his contract ran out when he was 21 and hadn't heard of him being offered a new one. Would be stupid to let a talent like him escape though. He can really turn the magic on, one of the best prospects around, wish he was English.

I agree. In desperate times then maybe, and if we decide to play 3 at the back at any stage, he can certainly fill a left wing back role but essentially he's a good old fashioned, hit the byline mazy winger
That's good news anyway. I remember his debut away at Chelsea when I didn't know a lot about him and he won everybody over there and then.
Somebody on here has a short video of him in their sig making one of his hazy runs. Great stuff.
He signed a new 5 year deal last summer. I think he is a Left Winger not a Left Back though but I think Pardew is trying to coach him into the position
has a good future with toon i hope, could do with more starts this season and it looks like he will with pardew preferring to put the emphasis on younger players.
At 21 probably has to start having more of an effect on the first team this year.
