We don't usually call a press conference when signing a player, well not recently we haven't been because they are nothing to shout about, usually a free capture.
Might not be a press conference, he just said announcement. If it were a press conference then all the media types would be announcing it already.
Looks like we have a newbie posting http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/155752-What-s-happening-at-1pm Make sure you say hello!

I did look for it and couldn't even see it on the main board, must have been due to moderation as I can see it now and have replied.
A dispute over who should pay for policing of matches at Leeds United’s Elland Road stadium has reached the High Court. The Whites want a decision on which of the services deployed by West Yorkshire Police for the last three seasons were special police services and whether it was entitled to be repaid for services it says were wrongly categorised. The litigation involves policing in the “extended footprint” of land around the stadium that is not owned or leased by the club. Michael Beloff QC told Mr Justice Eady in London today that the action was “in the nature of a test case”. He said it was the hope and anticipation of the footballing and policing worlds that the ruling would provide “powerful guidance” on the issue. He told the court the functions of a police constable are “deep-rooted” in common law, and that the police have no right to charge for a constable’s primary function which remains, as in the 17th century, the preservation of the Queen’s peace.
