Our young player Harry Kane has just scored for the England under 19's in their game against France.

He really is beginning to make a name for himself within the game. What I like about Kane is that every time he has been asked to step up a level, he has done so, and no-one cam ask more than that of a young player looking to make a career out of the game.

I understand our club last week, ruled out a loan move for Kane and it would be good to see him get some extended playing time with our first team. Following on from all last weeks positive feeling around the club, I would like to add the continuing progress of Harry Kane as another plus.

Just turned it on, hoping to catch a replay of the goal. Eurosport if anyone's looking for it.

Any other names we would/should know playing Spurcat?

Kane coming off at 85 mins.

Commentators describing his performance as "Superb", "top quality", "smashing technique".

<ok>

It is very easy to pick faults in a young players game, and I have often questioned whether Kane can cut it at the top level, but there can be no doubt he has improved every season he has been with us, and for that alone, I think stands him in good stead for making a decent career out of the game.

His goal:

Pretty poor punch clearance of a corner by the french keeper, falls to Kane about 10 yards out, who volleys first time into the bottom left corner.

I just find it a little depressing that this England u-19 team plays the same way as the seniors. A little direct and a certain lack of technique. I would hope by now that youngsters would be concentrating on getting the basics of football right, such as first touch, passing, movement, etc. Still early days for all of them but kind of hoped to see a bit more finesse against players of the same age and ability as them.

Well Spain are on now so you'll be able to see all of that

The "make the RDBD eat his words" list strikes at last.
Somebody please tell Gio he is also on that list. :)

I felt the penalty miss in last years EL game was a shame, i think it played on his mind perhaps, as I don't think we got to see him at his best as you have Spurcat. I wasn't particularly impressed tbh. Pav was on the pitch, so I don't know why he didn't take it, he wasn't **** at them either.

Good to hear he's kicked on though, as i have to admit not following him too closely, are Spurs opting to not loan him at all do you know?

I think that Kane played too far forward for us in the Europa League.
From what I've seen of him, he seems to prefer playing a little deeper and linking up with a true out-and-out striker.

Sherwood has stated that we won't loan Kane out to the Championship next season, Notso.
I think the suggestion is that Villas-Boas will look at him in the pre-season and decide whether he's better off in our squad or being loaned out to a Premier League side.

Not sure what the approach will be with Kane this season. Sherwood has been quoted as saying "he's done his time in the championshp", which would imply a loan move to a PL club. He was linked with Southampton at the beginning of the summer, but that seems to have gone quiet. Guess it all depends on what AVB makes of him. As you well know, it's all about kicking on season after season for these youngsters, and there's no doubt Kane is doing that.

Kane's goal starts at about 2.00.
Good finish after a horrific flap.
The other two goals are good and Kane's contribution to the first was pretty decent, if a little overhit.

Anyone think we should make a bid for the french keeper. No, me neither!

I'm gonna be a big head (not that that's a surprise! <laugh>) and come out with a "I told you so!" comment.

Always liked the look of Kane. Thought his link up play and work rate for a youngster was really promising (like a young Keano) and now clearly his sharpness infront of goal has majorly improved. A Few on here felt he didn't have a future with us based on his limited performances in the Europa, something I strongly disagreed with. I can see him definitely breaking into the first team squad properly within a couple of seasons.

I hope you are right, because he has a truly amazing name.

If he needs a song i recommend Rock You Like a Harry-Kane by Scorpions
