just read on tonys twitter that the share hold will be annoucesing the out look for the future of the club. will be realised at three i am sure it will make a very good read. as for the stadium it will be another two months before we get anything that is of any worth
For all you non-twitter folk: "QPR fans. We are not ready to announce stadium. But making good progress. I shall update on twitter." "Will not be a bowl. Will keep the atmosphere. Will be 45k capacity. Will be in West London. Narrowed down to 2 places." "I hope we can announce full details within the next 2 months. But as you can imagine this is not easy but tremendous work has been done." "Our major announcement today is at 3 o clock and what the shareholders of QPR believe is a statement of Intent for the future."
Seriously, Fenandes can have my Mrs. I freaking love this guy and all the other investors. Continuous backing in a controlled fashion, always making positive moves and statements, but always backing it up with action. If Carlsbourg did football owners.
Just hope it's a genuinely BIG announcement. Calling a conference just to tell us Park JS has signed would be very embarrassing.
I think we must prepare ourselves for the fact that it might well be not that big. The report on the radio this morning was that TF anticipated making an announcement about a new ground in the next 2 months. It could of course be another new player that they've managed to keep under wraps...
It'll be: Definates: Park Signing Stadium update (nothing definitive, just a confirmation of where we know we are, plus maybe a hint or two that we don't yet have) Probables: A.N. Other signing (maybe the other Korean bloke) Sponsorship deal - other than main shirt sponsor Update on the plans for the new training facility. Possibles: TF taking his shirt off and showing his new blue and white hooped tattoo across his torso Announcements about players leaving (possibly Kenny, possibly Young)
Unlikely: Signing of John Terry to partner Anton in the centre of defence. Mittal shares sold to Bernie Ecclestone. Hughes has resigned.
Pure Speculation.....the line that Tony says that its a 'Statement of Intent' from the board is intriguing. Maybe its the Mittals further increasing their shareholding, and annoucing a MASSIVE injection of cash? Would we say that signing Park is a 'Statement of Intent'?
If it's not about a new stadium the only statement of intent I can think of is if we sign a world class player, someone that would make jaws drop. Also convenient that it's the first day of pre-season training. But who that could be I have no idea. TBH after all the hype anything less would be a let down.
Sponsorship deal wouldn't surprise me, big Chinese or Korean outfit, long term deal. May have already sold naming rights for the stadium.......pure speculation, no knowledge. Or.....Sultan of Brunei buys into the club...that's Tony's part of the world
God, I hope it's not Southall! That's not even London as far as I'm (or postcodes) are concerned. Also, if the intention is to have a multi-purpose arena for concerts etc, then that is about as far from the ideal location as it's possible to get...On the other hand, that would certainly put Brentford's nose out of joint (not to mention Yeading and Hayes), so every cloud... Anyway, here's hoping that the Unigate site comes through. That would be ideal.
