Last Monday AVB was at the club having talks.
Tuesday he signed.
Wednesday Sigurdsson official
Thursday Caulker gets new deal
Friday was Fryersday
Saturday ???
Sunday Vertonghen announced.

I was thinking the main news this Monday would be whether Modric is/isn't at training but I guess he'll have extra time off along with the other Euros players. So what will be the big news on Monday; Ade move confirmed? Investment announced? Fryers compo settled making it official?

Arab takeover and we become the new City..with them becoming the old chelsea.

but seriously i expect us to hear about some kind of financial deal somwhere at the club ..be it new sponsors maybe? i heard the deal with investec/autonomy has expired?

Don't forget about bale signing a new contract! Was that Monday?

Ade tomorrow I reckon.

That was the week before, I was just talking about last week when everything picked up.

Yeah, I think Ade is most likely too.

Andy Murray to tell the English to **** off again?

I wonder if anyone has bothered to show Andy Murray the Monty Python 'Scotsman winning Wimbledon' sketch. He's too young to have seen it first time around. It might lighten him up a bit.

I think Sigurdsson and Vertonghen far relatively modest money is probably good business. I don't have any argument with signing these players, but it seems odd to me (as a matter of principle) that the manager is not the person deciding on transfer policy. These are not AVB's signings. So who is picking the transfer targets and why?

We don't know that about Sigurdsson because we weren't interested when the Swansea deal first fell through and there's rumour that AVB was lined up early on but we couldn't officially approach him until 1st July because of his settlement with Chelsea. Besides, none of the rest of the squad were chosen by him either so I don't see a huge problem unless he has no say in all future transfers.

AVB has spoken to both players before he was confirmed, one of them let slip and said so, can't remember which, this has been the worst kept secret for weeks. No one person is deciding transfers, Levy, Sherwood and AVB are names already mentioned on a transfer committee if you like. Hope you sleep better knowing that now. Does anyone dare disagree with SAF, that bloke who runs your place? :)

Arsenal let a senile old man take sole control for too many years, you could say we did to a point! <laugh>...just a friendly warning.:)

Is the OP a cover of Craig David?

i dont see the problem.

hes a very good player...got alot of positives...i dont think if any manager joined any club that Vert would be the type of player that would find himself surplus to requirements...so why would it bother AVB if he signed Vert..or he was already part of the Spurs squad on his arrival? it is still a very good member of a squad AVB has inherited...i dont see a problem..because there are no financial cut backs it seems on AVBs spending so the 9 mill for Vert has not scuppered AVBs plans...
