I know MM is very thorough in his checking of potential players and I know they need to fit into his template but I'm beginning to worry again.
Last january we didn't bring any players in although "Money was available". It bothered me then and all the talk about the Jan window being rubbish and wrong players didn't make me feel any better about the second half of the season. I tend to be a KTFer so i just crossed my fingers and hoped.
Now again there is a "War chest" available but what fecking use is it if no one is spending it? For the last month or more we have been told that it is essential, and it is the managers intention, to bring in new players before the beginning of the pre-season training. What have we got? Not a lot. Where are the wingers attacking midfielders and stikers that everyone agrees are desperately needed?
I like MM but I wish sometimes he'd just do something. Are we still going to be "looking for the right players" in September? Lots of players go on loan and do excellent jobs for the clubs they go to. Look at gerrard at Hull - player of the season. There must be ambitious fringe players in top squads out there somewhere?
Are we going to become the team with the most defenders in the league? That is why Turnip head failed for England. He was a defender and couldn't get past the need for good defenders so England stagnated - couldn't score a goal if you paid them, and they did pay them.
    DO SOMETHING!!!! PLEASE???

Haven't the club stated that we're probably looking at the latter half of next month before things start shifting?

If it don't, they may have WW3 on their hands after the shirt change.

I know it's frustrating but look at Mutch, great signing, out of the blue - the way it should be.

KTF mate, Jones went out and tried to buy it and they were embarrassing by the end. Malky hasn't and built a squad that did us all proud.

there hasnt been much activity by any clubs to be honest, malky has said they are working tirelessly to get new players in so i'd just watch back with a gin and tonic and watch it all unfold :emoticon-0103-cool:

All smoke and mirrors at this stage of close season - the real work will begin soon - MM will have identified his targets same as BL will have done for us. There will be some surprises and some signings that will excite and tantalise - is early days X - KTF and trust your manager - think he will do you proud!

Malky has been on holiday for the last week or so.

I expect things to warm up this week with Keogh (okay another defender <doh>) and Noone being the first to arrive - Brighton have taken Bridge on loan so that should free up Noone who doubled as a wing back second half of their season.

I expect to see Keinan and Gerrard go out, leaving just Taiwo to go from my "move on" list.

I really don't see Bellers coming back although I was told today his missus wants him to return.

I am convinced we will get our signings, like i said before. your better off not looking at the Press until the 1st week of August and then have a look at our player list. Hopefully it will contain a quality striker or if not Bellers to feed Dusty.

It's the two constant but contradicary messages that are worrying me.
We are intent on getting players in so that they can take part in pre season (Which starts on wednesday)
do not expect much to happen before the end of August when the Prem teams have sorted out thier squads.
They can't both by right, but we keep hearing both.
Its as if they want them now but know they aint going to get them so are making us beleive they are waiting for the season to start.

I'm less worried about that this time round Cling. We're in a much better position than this time last year. Only one outfield player has arrived (two if you include Harris who didn't make the field last term), but those together with our exisiting squad will be tighter and will have a full pre-season together. If the other 5 players (if MM gets all he wants) join part way through pre-season we'll still have a good team on the field that they can only add to.

I'd be happy to start the season with what we've got and introduce others slowly over the first month or so. There's enough games in that period, especially if we win a league cup game or two!

Perhaps the early signings will be "ones for the future" and late August signings will be the big boys.

The problem is we could equally well lose or draw our August games while we are waiting for the "right players" who even then may never materialise. And as Whittingham reportedly said, a very good start is most important.

I see Lovenkrands is set for Brum - a useful player with some speed but would we want another 31 year old - Bellers excepted of course.

I think we need players who can get us promoted regardless of age.
