Well, he has punch resistance, he has the skills to pay the bills............He has guts. We found that out last night. What we also found out is that maybe he didn't get it right regarding his weight. Hopefully an eye opener for him, but he got through it.
I was not impressed by his performance in this fight, normally I am a big fan of Kell but this has highlighted a number of weaknesses and shows that he is not ready for the elites in that weight. He is prone to switching off in fights, this has been the case in the Hatton fight and now this one and it is a serious problem that he needs to address. Also by the sound of it he has problems with disciplining himself as he gains a lot of weight after fights and by the sounds of it is not taking care of himself very well. He looked psychically knackered after round 5 and really struggled after that. No disrespect to his opponent but he was very one-dimensional and Kell showed that he could easily outbox him in the early rounds but Jones seemed to really get under his skin resulting in Brook making stupid mistakes. He needs to buckle down and work very hard if he wishes to be a success. All that talk and comparison to Naz was very premature in my opinion, he has a long way to go if he wants to be even close to Prince Naseem.
The naz comparison is the curse of any Ingle fighter. I know Brook didn't look great, but he did show what else he had in his locker. It is good to know that those qualities are there......it is not something i would wish to see again.
