I'm sure some of you will have seen the rumour on twitter that we have accepted a £900k bid for jackson from blackpool.... What does everyone make of this I think we need a player with pace and its not like we can rely on vaughan to be fit all the time. Unless Hughton has someone lined up i'm a bit worried about losing someone like jackson who complimented holt well last year and stretched some defences especially for only £900k
it's reasonably well documented how much I dislike Jackson, but even I would be reluctant to take less than 2m for him. He is, after all, a proven forward at championship level and still young.
My first reaction - are we talking about the same Blackpool who wanted to pay Robbie Fowler £100 a week, whose wage structure is so low that Ollie says he finds it difficult to buy/keep players even in the Championship, whose owner is so tight that it needs talk of legal action to get him to pay staff agreed bonuses and who refuses to give his Manager a proper transfer budget?
I hope it is not true, but if it is we must have someone lined up as we may struggle to compete with fewer strikers. 900k maybe seems a little low, I think we paid 600k for him and now he has a years prem experience maybe should be nearer 1.5 million if we wanted to sell
do not want to see him go, Mr Hewtun please look at the Man Utd dvd again he ran circles around them ,but if you have a certain man waiting in a certain car park...ok!
That rumour started from a a twitter account quite clearly named fakefootballrumors! Make of that what you will...
if he goes we do need a few new strikers and 1 with pace big lose this would be. he needs to know someone already to bring in. as we will have nearly no strikers we need 2 more
He works his socks off and has pace, no way would Hughton let him go. It's just a rumour, doubt anything will come of it. I honestly think Jackson will find his form in the PL this season.
its probably bollocks but we should definitely keep him. works hard, has pace and offers something different to the other forwards we have. he's a bit underrated i think.
Btw, that Fifa career mode thing is hilarious...can't believe someone would take the time to write all that. Obviously should have spent more time on his homework (in more sense than one) as Jackson is Canadian, not Jamaican.
Bit of a coincidence all the same! Hopefully the guy hasn't got the second sight or the predictive powers of the World Cup octopus.
