A couple of months ago, I wrote a thread that enquired as to what banner the Gooners would create for their board when RVP left the club. At the time, I had Gooners jumping up and down affirming me as nothing more than a wum, but my words were clearly prophetic. I doubt I will get any apologies from any of them.
Be that as it may, I would like to raise the same issue.
Now that RVP has decided to leave a sinking ship, and is now considered by all Gooners as a traitor, it is clear that our Gooner kin will have to change the banner on their board.
With a dwindling supply of real heros to call on (indeed, I believe that RVP was their last modern legend), who do you think they will now immortalize?
Clearly, it cannot be Whinger, because - well, let's face it - the man has now allowed Fabregas, Nasri, Clichy, Troure, Adebayor, Gallas, and now another AFC legend (namely, RVP) to leave the club.
Clearly, it cannot be any of their board, because - well, let's face it - they are all in their 80s, and obviously don't know their arseholes from elbows.
I reckon they will fall back on the Mouser ruse of glorifying past legends, because - well, let's face it - that is all they now have to glorify.
What do you chaps reckon?
