One of those in red will miss out now Gilles has been included. I guess it will be Phil Hill.

There is no way they can/will put Vettel in the top 10, he's a top driver, but to put him as being better than someone like Gilles Villeneuve is madness. Plus Benson dislikes him for thoroughly whacking Hamilton for the past 2 seasons. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Vettel doesn't make the list.

Fully agree. You can say that Alonso and Hamilton, for example, have shown their ability to wring the best out of an under performing car, whereas Vettel has only shown so far that he can make the most of a very competitive car. That could easily change, but for me he's the real deal but not the complete deal.

Don't get silly with your Vettel discreditation.....
Sebastian Vettel will be on this list for sure!

I'm not the one discrediting him, it's Benson. If he were on this list he would have appeared by now. There is no way Benson will put him ahead of his beloved Hamilton. I don't think any current driver should be on the list, you should only be there once you've retired.

well I though 1 wdc would be enough to be in the list but if a 2xwdc desnt get in the top 20 then I dunno...I just dunno =/

Can you actually say that about Hamilton? I don't see how, as Hamilton has only done well in a competitve car, and sometimes he doesn't even do well in them, Vettel has won in a midfield car.

Well I guess I can, but then it's only my opinion. As Kyle? said, the list should only be for retired (at least once) drivers, then we can judge them on what they've achied over their careers. Otherwise, we're all biased to some extent.

yeah, I'm biased toward Brabham as I think his achievments outshine all the others, a triple WDC who designed and built his own car to get his 3rd WDC. A feat that has never been repeated, and probably never will.

I'd say in 2009 Hamilton did pretty well in a dog of a McLaren even if the car did improve in the second half of the season. I think Vettel deserves a place in the top 10, whatever you think about him he is an incredible qualifier and has shown the consistency to win two WDCs in a row

Even if Vettel retired now he'd still be good for a place in the top 20, he's won two championships in just four full seasons. Senna will almost certainly be first - I wouldn't have him there myself but that's where he'll be - Fangio, Schumacher, Clark and Prost (in no particular order) will complete the top five. Stewart 6th and Lauda 7th. So Ascari, Surtees, Alonso and Vettel should be the next four.

Just to remind people its not in any order.

Also does anybody thing Stirling Moss Could get on the list?
