Here's an outside name (I'm not saying it's a rumour, just an idea) - Jason Lowe? Looked very good on occasions for Blackburn last year, can cover in midfield and RB..?

Crazy rumour about Adam Johnson on twitter

I saw that rumour had re-emerged this morning. I do like a laugh, although hopefully that's enough of it now. Would prefer it didn't turn into this summer's Michael Owen rumour.

When you consider that Johnson would walk into the Liverpool team or the Spurs team or the Newcastle team etc no questions asked, why are people even bothering to link him with us?

There was a time when we'd get a lot of the best and we were at the Dell then. The likes of Keegan, Shilton, Ball and Mark Wright came, why not again!!

Totally agree. If Nicola is serious about challenging in Europe then we need to keep our yoith and bring in a couple of topp class players. Johnson would dovery nicely!

Johnson needs first team Premier league football on a regular basis, something that we would be able to provide. I wonder if a loan move would be possible, possibly with an option to buy at the end of the season when we have proved that we are not just here to make up the numbers. Although he could go to 'bigger' clubs he would have more competition for a starting berth at the likes of Spurs, Liverpool.

I guess if we agreed to rest Rickie and Adam on the opening weekend, just to give City a chance against us, then City might loan us Johnson for the season to say thank you.

Vitesse Büttner-Back With Thoughts Already In Southampton

It is likely that Sprint will soon say goodbye to Alexander Büttner. The 23-year-old left-back could pursue his career in England.

Queens Park Rangers had a long time the best papers, but it seems the battle for the signature of the multifunctional defender losing to Southampton. Recently Büttner was a guest in southern England, where he received a tour with the club for the dinner table.

There's at Büttner, who was also in the interest of Fulham and Werder Bremen, a contract for three seasons ready to Southampton. "It was very impressive, everything looks great in England," said the left back early this week.

"It's still something between the clubs, so for me it is mostly seen, but it would be a setback if it falls through. The Premier League is of course a fantastic competition and I have my eyes looked at Southampton. The club has a fantastic stadium and a wealthy owner with all ambitious plans. "

"They were promoted last year, but are not satisfied with a modest role in the Premier League. They want to the top and who plans to speak to me. In addition, it looks it in terms of living conditions also fine. "

Büttner has expressed his preference for Southampton and seems only dependent on the willingness of Vitesse. The Arnhem club has already received several bids for the left back, who only has a one year commitment.

Fulham went no further than two million, but both Queens Park Rangers and Southampton have made an offer that is around four million. Technical director Ted van Leeuwen left last Sunday during the first practice of Vitesse know that the chance of a transfer is large, although the parties are beginning this week were not on the reimbursement sum.
