Not one for midwek betting these days, instead saving it for the Group Races... but I noted one down when I last saw it run- Kempton 8.35 BOWDLER'S MAGIC 16/1 e.w Bobbyscott and Ascalon ought to ensure a good pace from the front and them dueling will play to the stamina of certain horses- in particular Bowdlers Magic. Drawn in stall one means he ought to get a good sit on the inside in mid-div (unless he completely blows the start) and he can settle off the duelling leaders. If Demuro can get him into a nice rhythm, I fancy him to pick up the running turning in and I think with his known stamina, he will be a really difficult horse to peg back. He slammed Tactician by 7L off 84 back in 2010, ran very consistently off 87 throughout 2011 and won again off 84 late last season. Running off just 78 here for first try on polytrack, his 16/1 looks appealing, and he has handled Wolverhamptons AW track so Kempton ought to not hold any unknowns either, despite the difference in surfaces. Hopefully my small litte dabble here will boost me for a play on the Eclipse at the weekend. GL if anyone plays.
Well Toppy plenty have seen your selection but not many have commentated on it... Hope they all don't think its got no chance and don't want to say owt... 156 views and not a word...
Just to add to the ONE selection so far today i thought i'd go wild and post up THREE for you to laugh at... All at Worcester, and not a lot of money riding on them either...!!! 2.40 - Tuskar, 3/1 3.40 - Saute, 7/4 4.40 - Andhaar, 4/1 Just put in a small win patent... Not the most inspiring days of racing but you never know, i might have guessed at 3 winners...
8.00 Kempton Rumh Not sure if i am missing something but 4/1 seems a massive price here. Admittedly she hasnt won for just over a year but that win was in a listed race and the majority of the races in between have been when she has had little chance, mainly as a pacemaker for Blue Bunting. Her first start this year was a poor run behind gatewood at epsom where she possibly didnt handle the track and was probably slightly demoralised after having to run as a pacemaker for the majority of last season. Her next run was an improved effort finishing 4th in a listed race behind Set To Music. She is now 10lbs lower than her first run of the season and i dont think this race will take much winning at all. She also has winning form around wolverhampton suggesting that the all-weather should hold no fears. Spensley rates as the main danger however it is having its first run since november so will be entitled to need the run and i dont think any of the others are in the same league as Rumh in all honesty and i think she will take all the beating.
Watch out for Daniel Tudhope today, top jock in the north imo, he will ride a double at the very least.
I think they looked at who started the thread and went 'he's no ROTO or Stick' and promptly ignored it! Be hilarious if it hosed up!
Just noticed AP is at worcester for just the one ride today Cock Of The Rock What interests me here is that although he won two of his three bumpers he is yet to get off the mark over hurdles, finishing second on 5 occasions and never finishing out of the top 4. AP was on for both its bumper wins and has also been on for two of its second place finishes but hasnt been on board for its last 5 runs. They have gone to for AP again today and you would think he rates it as having a chance if he is willing to travel just for the one horse that seems to be a very frustrating type suggesting he thinks that today could be the horses time. Im willing to give him one more chance to get off the mark over hurdles today
Afternoon, pilgrims. Iâve just had some fizzy pop and a doughnut so at the moment Iâm rather like inflation under a Labour Government. Yes, that right...hyper! Anyway, nothing for me today but I would have plumped for 2 across the old Severn Bridge in Wales had Chepstow survived its inspection. Still we all know what they are like in those parts - one drop of precipitation and the world grinds to a halt! The said beasts incidentally were Raslan (I smelt another Pipe plot as the horse, at his best, is considerably better than a 70 rated performer) and My Stroppy Poppy (because its a lovely name for a filly, the moniker made me chuckle and tellingly horses whose 2nd and 3rd names rhyme have a 65% strike rate in the Principality). Still am hiding my disappointment re the abandonment stoically and suggest everyone else does the same. Good luck though if your animal does make it to the old starting gate.
I saw that as well Brough... But McCain sends only 1 runner there as well in that race, Hurraboru, with Maguire on top for his only ride... Interesting.... But at the moment both are drifting away...!!!
Glad to hear of another bit of support for Danny Tudhope, Boris. I only posted on yesterdays thread about him as i think he has been riding superbly lately, and getting a few unfancied horse past the post first as well. I hope he will get noticed a little more very soon. I also posted my praise of William Carson who i rarely see not achive the horses best position. A smart Jockey who is very strong but keeps it simple as well. I must also say I think Pat Dobbs is very underated and if i had a horse i would put him up without question whatever the race.
