Back to the OP (sort of) So far, weve mad 2 signings with one having european experiance and winning domestic trophies who is very versatile, and a young up and coming future england player for proberbly a maximum of £1mil. I have no problem what so ever with our new boss , but will be interesting to see who else he brings in?? Also, do you think he will be looking in the striking department still??
Pretty sure we will and should still be looking for another striker although in part it depends on how CH wants to play. But I would guess a quickish striker coming our way at some point.
Maybe we may be signing that so called "2nd striker" this week, after all weve already signed one this week
Interesting thread about Lambert now signing foreign stars. I remember when Mike Walker left Norwich and went to Everton he tried to sign lots of foreign and big money signings and it all blew up in his face. Could this happen to Lambert as well, changing from a path that worked well for him?
Blimey, I hope you didn't think I had a problem with the policy? I absolutely love it, and already worship the very ground Chrissy bor hootun walks on I was just saying that I find it interesting that Lambert seems to have completely changed his policy already, and whilst the Moroccan fella may be an international it's still got to be seen as a gamble. I'd rather stick within our wage stucture and look for players who won't take six months to learn the lingo. I'd definitely like to bring in another striker as well though, got to keep em all on their toes
Sorry Sid, wasn't directed at you just a return to the OP and saying how happy I am with hootons transfer business so far and will be interesting to see who he purchases with some serious cash
Lambert may be a bit nervous about the Villa defence with Cuellar leaving for Sunderland. I'm very happy with Whittaker's experience and versatility as well as the promise of something special young Butterfield brings. Holty signing on for another year makes me even more confident about this new season and there's still at least 10m in the budget! OTBC!
i personally feel we should dip into the market for another striker anyway. we've lost wilbraham and i expect martin to leave, on loan or permanently - we don't want to be short up top. add davies and burke, plus one defensive-minded midfielder and i'd be delighted with the summers work!
