Just seen this tweet from Rob Butler...

    Rob Butler ‏@BobRutler
Rumours that #ncfc have turned down a 4mill bid from Villa for Howson. Quite frankly I find that bid insulting! Do one Lambert.

If villa are prepared to pay £10mil for Charles Nzogbia i personally think they should be looking closer to £20mil not £4mil thats a joke!!

If its true, its clear the bid was made to see if it will unsettle Howson. Lambert knows he's worth way more than that.

He will be off if true! Obviously at the right price.

Cos i would say we, but i mean Lambert gave him the chance to play in the prem. Hes now come knocking again this time with a bigger cheque book to offer him more dough! He has no reason to stay here, if he was leeds through and through then he wont give us a 2nd thought <ok>

It might all be b*****ks though <ok>

He didn't want to leave Leeds. You could say his heart said stay, but his head said go. He wanted/needed Premier League football and tbh, I think it would have to be a big offer for him to leave us so soon after arriving. Not sure Villa will be able to tempt him.

This is the canary call guy right?

Howson going would be probably my biggest fear. It's only a rumour, and said above they would have to pay top dollar for him

Lambert trying to create a Norwich B-Team at Villa? At least he won't get Ruddy in his side after he signed a 4 year deal. If he likes our players so much and doesn't like the players he's got at Villa he shouldn't have left. The grass isn't always greener on the other side

Couldnt agree more max! Howson will be such an important player for us and one we certainly cant afford to lose now. The rumor first surfaced from a ITK twitter account, so the majority of them havent got a scooby but you never know!

Lambert is beginning to really piss me off now, if this rumour of a £4M bid is true he's having a laugh. He ****ed off and and left us without telling us "his reasons", he can bloody well **** off again and I hope McNally tells him so <grr>

These so called "big boys" are playing bollocks "mind games"

Paying slimy ****ing bastard agents and media twats to spin lies linking every player to the club

We are the bigger club, they're trying to destabilise us because they're skint. They can take howson from our cold dead hands, we aren't little old Norwich anymore and we aren't taking **** from filthy cockneys or midland scum.

Sorry for mincing my words a tad there.

I've not seen the tweet but someone was saying it came from gravycanaries! If that's the case, it's as true as I'm riding this camel!

I could certainly see Lambert trying to get Howson - he would have been tracking him for a while before signing him, and he's young and going to get better so why wouldn't he want him at Villa. I can't see Howson wanting to go though - he's made a move away from his hometown recently and is just starting to establish himself in the Prem, I think he will realise moving again could backfire in a big way.

When does your pre-season start ?

This, of course, shows the mentality of the average QPR fan. It's all about the money.

We achieved a modicum of success without spending beyond our means. If these players want to move for bigger bucks, then adios, and good luck. It's not a tenet I'm comfortable with. I'd rather be back in league one than buy into this mentality.

Having said that, it's probably all bollux anyway. Villa are in the scheisse for just this reason, and couldn't afford him. <ok>

I don't care what the media say, Lambert and Villa can't afford our players. Villa pissed mcNally off over the compo big time IF they come in for anyone they are going to be paying top top dollar.

There's no way Howson would go for less than £10m why would we sell him for less? He's just arrived, on a long contract etc £4m? More chance of being bitten by a ****in daffodil!!!!

No chance, I think McNally has probably added a 0 to every players valuation when it comes to what Villa have to put forward

am I wrong or has not lambert still yet to sign Culverhouse and Kassa, if they cant afford that !!!!!!!!!

Also if Holty is worth £6 million Howson is worth £10 million, together wih unpaid compo for lambo that will be £14 million and that little midland club cant afford that !

You're right jarrold, I reckon Lambert might be beginning to wonder if he's done the right thing. Losing Culverhouse is probably like having is right arm cut off. Having said that, I wouldn't want him back as I'm more than happy with our new man and have every confidence that he will lead us onto bigger and better things <ok>

The grass ain't always greener <laugh>

P.S. he should have known not to mess with McNasty <laugh>

How about this for a quote (from memory) about Howson: "He's going to be a massive player FOR THIS CLUB". Who said it and when? Answers on a postcard to ......
