Well it seems like the SPL clubs have knocked back Newco,s application to join them.

They may be forced to play in division 3 although division 1 is looking increasingly likely according to the latest radio reports.

If Newco have financial trouble & go into admin it will be the end of one of the biggest clubs in British football.

End of the SPL too. Finacial meltdown when the Sky contract is renegotiated, players won't like being paid in Drachma's

    Aye, seems likely.

They get a pittance anyhow compared to what we get.

Without the Old Firm games there will be an utter lack of interest I would imagine.

So I guess that means we can finally end the argument....... Celtic win, are better and all protestants are now Catholics by default? Glad that's over!

The SPL was boring before, but now it's a one-horse race.

Scottish footie taking a gun to its own foot, methinks...

Sky have it in their contract that they can cancel their SPL contract without any old firm games.

Well they clearly did things wrong, fiddled the way they paid players (I'm sure they are not the only ones) However as long as they are not allowed in the English leagues I couldn't give a flying ****! They only want in for the money - Well **** off you can't have any of our money. You get plenty of our money through taxes, the sooner Scotland is out of the union and we stop giving them money to get free university education but not us. That they get a say in our affairs and we have no say in their parliament. Scotland as a nation and people have benifited massively from being in the union.

I agree with keep Rangers out of England mate...

But on the Scottish thing, if they want independence, give them it...

They will be just fine, just like most others countries we were once allied to...Or countries we invaded (not found) i.e Oz, USA etc.

India etc seem to do well without the hassle of a small self grandiuer country laying claims to them, so i personally think the jocks will be just fine..

All their infra-structure is there...let them have it.

Commachio, love the Queen pic, proper full on chuckle that <ok>

As for Scotland, give them their independence, the North needs the investment per capita that they have been receiving for years.

I quote "The basic facts are that Scotland accounts for 8.4% of the UK population, 8.3% of the UK's total output and 8.3% of the UK's non-oil tax revenues - but 9.2% of total UK public spending.

Scottish Executive figures for 2009-10 show that spending per capita in Scotland was £11,370, versus £10,320 for the UK. In other words, spending in Scotland was £1,030 - or 10% higher - per head of population than the UK average.

What about revenues? The same source shows Scottish total non-oil tax revenues coming in at £42.7bn in 2009-10, or £8,221 per head, which compares with total public expenditure attributable to Scotland of £59.2bn, or £11,370 per head."

It was a good pic mate..

So in basic terms, what you are saying is that Scotland receives more than what they contribute?

So if i have read that right, there is even more reason to give them their own country, rather than keeping it combined.
