As long as we have leaders on the pitch a skipper is not that important these days , look at Man Utd, they share it around. When Tarbs was skipper , it was derry doing the true skippers role .

If we have a core of motivators , ala Green , nelsen, hill , faurlin , zamora we will be ok . Still ALi for me if fit.

Zamora but his armband will have to be easy to remove as he won't finish many matches as he's usually cream crackered after 70mins.

If he plays regularly I'd have Clint because at least he is vocal unlike Onuha or Anton. We need a shouty person.

Taiwo would have been perfect - confident, charismatic and got stuck in.

Don't generally like forwards as captains. Faurlin can go missing for the odd 10-15 mins so wouldn't choose him.

As it stands, there should be an expectation that one of Nelson or Hill will be playing each game and a combination of the two would be more than acceptable.

Based on track record it has to be Taarabt. Under his captaincy we stormed the Championship. Truly inspirational and now reformed character.

Kieron Dyer. Vastly experienced former international, well rested.

Yepp, I'm beginning to like the idea! It could make him a bit more responsible on the pitch and glue him better to us. And his scoring shout at Citeh shows he's not too quiet;)

If we sign him, then Diakate would be perfect if his English is up to the job.

Otherwise, Mackie and then Fraulin for me.

Exactly, I reckon he'd be the most respected as well.
Been there ,seen it, and scored!

I like that. He'd get a strategic view from the South Africa Road Stand

Mackie anyone? Seems to bleed blue and white whenever he's on the pitch

Get the feeling Mackie will be a squad player next season....never stops putting in the effort, but lacks the needed quality....cant see him as captain.

I'll wait until I see who we sign. There may be a contender amongst them.

Of the current crop I'd go for Green.

Hill and Derry are perfect captain material but, unfortunately, they won't be regular first teamers.

Onuoha, Faurlin and, particularly, Ferdinand seem too quiet to be the leader we need.

Mackie has many things going for him but I'm not sure his primary attribute, his work ethic, will gain the necessary respect from his fellow professionals.

For me, Cisse and Taiwo are the most interesting suggestions. Cisse has been quoted as saying some very positive things about the club, he's no shrinking violet and certainly leads by example. Taiwo, if he were to sign permanently, is big, loud, committed and was an increasingly impressive performer.

    Cisse, then!

I wonder if they would ever consider Mackie I know I'm usually on about him but there was somethng written just after the City game in the Ealing Gazette (yes I read it from here) that struck mel At the time I had no idea what they were figuring to do with JB but if there is to be a poll, and just in case I miss it, I vote for Mackie
