So with the whole Barton thing come to its final fruition and barton being stripped of the captaincy, who do you think will be named Captain next season? The obvious names that spring to mind would be Derry or Hill.....both are passionate and have that leadership quality....BUT I dont think either of them will play much next season. Hill was quality last season, but I still feel he will be replaced with someone better. Kenny has been replaced with Green. Ferdinand maybe? Any new players that come in shouldnt get it a they dont have the passion of being imbedded with the club? I wouldnt know who to pick to be fair.
Club captain: Clint Hill. 2nd captain: Nedum Onouha. Onouha will play every game so the games where Clint is not involved he will wear the armband. Secondly he leads by example by the way he conducts himself, almost Paul Parker'esque.
You think Onuha? He doesnt strike me as a captain in the slightest.....seems very much to himself and not a leader....but then no-one else does really.
Yeah, as I say he leads by example much by the way he conducts himself on and of the field. A total professional in every sense of the word. In stark contrast to last seasons captain... For me football has evolved, the barking off orders and yelling is a thing of the past, for both captains and managers. We have many leaders across the pitch that shouldn't need instructions every second, they will get it from the sidelines when needed imo. I'm hoping his nickname from City, "Big Chief", also says something about him as a person
My choice would actually be Faurlin....he is so passionate about football and about QPR....he's been there a while and sits in the perfect place to be captain.
Hill for me.. Definetely not Anton, he seems to need his fellow CB to guide him, how can he be Captain. 2nd Captain Derry. 3rd Captain someone who most probably will play most games for us, this player is possibly yet to be signed.
Was between him and Onouha for me. The description I just made about Onouha fits Ali to the letter as well. And I always prefer the captain to play central in the park. Coin toss for me between the two.
club captain has to be someone who is looking to start every game ( almost ) , can't see this being Hill , and def not Derry . Ferdinand does not strike me as captain material or Onuha for that fact . I reckon could be a new signing or Ali if fit and back to form. Depending on how he is looking to use him Ryan Nelsen could be one contender. Done it before and well to memory but will he play much ?
Club Captain Derry 1st Team Captain (PL Away) Hill 1st Team Captain (PL Home) Taarabt 1st Team Captain (FA Cup Home/Away) Mackie 1st Team Captain (League Cup Home/Away) Cisse Reserve 1st Team Captain (in any match he plays) Faurlin Goalkeeping Captain (all matches Home/Away) Green Captain of the Ship Nelsen Captain of absolutely nothing - Barton.
My first thought actually. But I'd be surprised if we get more than fifteen games out of him next season. And I don't want a newbee crowned captain just after walking through the door. It has to be someone who have lived and breathed QPR, the longer the better. The more I think about it the more I'm swaying towards Faurlin. But what MH will do is another matter. My bet is on Zamora, not my choice.
Faurlin for me but not sure he's vocal enough. But there have been plenty of Captains in the past that lead by example so to speak. With Derry and Hill in the dressing room too, the need for a vocal Captain isn't completely necessary. If he plays regularly, another contender is Mackie. There's no one more passionate than him.
Whats the betting its Tarbs with his shiny new 4 year contract! Crying he will be off to Arsenal if we dont give it back to him with a 4yr to boot!
