One to get on early at Windsor's evening meeting is SIR PEDRO 5-2 7.10.

Very impressive on his debut in a decent Doncaster maiden when running away from a pretty big field. The word was out before the race that the yard fancied it and they didnt dissapoint. he raced prominently throughout before hitting the front at the furlong pole. He ran pretty green eering a little to his left in the last half furlong but quickened smartly away. The handicapper hasnt been too severe and his greeness and stable confidence leads me to believe that much better is thought possible. The runner up is a winner since and I am confident this boy can win off this mark. Currently 5-2 but I cant see that price being available much longer!

I think Sir Pedro has a great chance tomorrow Stick, I will say however Fast Finian was very much expected to win on his debut also and well backed which suggests he is on a mark that they know is favourable. I cannot see the winner not being one of the two.

    6.10 Windsor

    Livias Dream 10/1 NAP

Rather like the look of Ed Walker's 3 year old handicap debutant who I think has a very good chance to break her maiden at the 4th attempt. This filly steps up to 10f for the first time and although she has a 9 month break to overcome I think Ed Walker should have her absolutely spot on for this. Her two year old debut came over 7f at Doncaster last July when she put in an eye catching 2L beaten 3rd. After breaking tardily, she looked outpaced for a lot of the journey before the penny dropped late on as she finished to very good effect and it was a very promising debut. The form of that race looks very strong with the winner Dance The Rain subsequently finishing a head beaten 2nd off a mark of 81 whilst the 2nd Ghost Protocol is now an 88 rated animal. Her 2nd start came one month later at Folkestone again over 7f as she finished a not knocked about 6L beaten 5th. Once again she seemed outpaced as she had to be pushed along from about half way before making some decent enough headway under largely hands and heels riding. That race significantly suited those who raced on the pace with the first 4 home occupying those positions for the entire race. I really don't think the track suited her at all and I think she did very well to finish as close as she did. The form of that race isn't up to much but considering she wasn't hardly knocked about over a trip that is clearly on the sharp side it was still an encouraging effort. Her final start came when upped to 1m at Nottingham but Ed Walker has stated on his site that she picked up an injury so I am going to ignore that effort.

I think after analysing her first two starts, and in particular her first, that her handicap mark of 68 looks rather manageable given she is unexposed and should definitely improve upped in trip. Although she has a 9 month gap to overcome, her best race to date came on debut so I have no qualms about her ability to go well fresh. Moreover, he trainer Ed Walker seems particularly adept at readying his horses after a break and I am convinced she will be race fit for tomorrows race. This race Class 5 handicap is a moderate enough place for her to start her handicapping career and it looks a very winnable contest, especially the step up in trip nearly guaranteed to suit. Trainer Ed Walker couldn't be in better form at present, with 5 winners from his last 11 runners and that is a huge positive. William Buick, who couldn't be riding any better right now, takes the ride and he is an extremely encouraging booking. To date, Buick has had 4 rides for Walker and he has won three so it certainly seems that connections feel she is going to run a huge race tomorrow. The combination are 2-2 this year and I feel they have an extremely good chance of keeping that record going tomorrow. With the draw in stall 7 decent enough, I think Livias Dream will run a very big race tomorrow and I think she has an excellent chance of starting off her 3 year old career with a bang.

The 5.00 Chepstow looks a very competitive race and I think that the first two home in this race last year Gracies Games 10/1 & Bermondsey Bob 7/1 may fill those two places again. Both have good records at the track and will love the conditions and are in good order at present. Slight preference is for the latter with Willie Twiston Davies looking a very eye catching booking and his 7lb claim may win this for him. Moreover, it looks as if he may get his own way out in front and he may be extremely difficult to peg back. Main bet is on the reverse forecast with small singles on both.

    Kilbeggan

    6.00 Some Fiddle 5/1

Run behind Donatis Comet in a bumper looks strong in the context of this race, reportedly lame post race on first run over hurdles, has had 2 runs back after a break showing improved form on the second of those, this isnt a stong race and I fancy her to have too much for Howya Buddy and Chase The Favourite. Wall Street Wally could be the danger.

7.00 Whispering Hills 11/4 into 7/4 (cheers Gary)

This is quite a strong little race for the grade, Rising Time is a nice mare of Paul Nolans and she will be dangerous if staying as will the Mullins horse Passage Vendome who won a decent race at Punchestown over 2 miles last time, he has always looked as though a step up in trip would suit but this may be a bit too much for him at this stage and he is likely to be short in the market. Whispering Hills was a decent bumper horse, running well in Ireland and finishing 3rd in the Aintree bumper all the time looking like a real stayer, picked up an injury after Punchestown and wasnt seen again till early this year. His second to Aupcharlie at Lepardstown looks particularly strong where he had Rising Time well behind and has since improved for the step up to 3 miles winning very easily last time on conditions similar to those forecast tomorrow. I think he will take the world of beating and he is my banker of the day at what should be a fair price.

    9.00 Sin Palo 4/1

Really looking forward to seeing Sin Palo over fences, his hurdle form leaves him with alot to find but I think he could be a different proposition over fences, id be worried about the ground and trip for and Canaly and id be surprised if they let Mickelson have his own way in front. There are plenty of outside dangers in here and Sin Palo will need to go some to win first time over the larger obstacles but he just looks a big chaser to me and I expect him to improve a ton for them.

Stick, you continue to hold the No 1 position on this board with ROTO providing excellent info with his write ups. I had a tenner on yesterday tip at 3/1 and put the winnings on England, thankfully 365's bore draw offer was triggered and I still have my winnings in tact. I shall once again go with the tenner on Sir Pedro, thank you for sharing your ability to read the intricacies of this wonderful sport.

Roto, I have had an e/w dabble on Livia's Dream, with the man in form in the saddle she has every chance, price just slipped into 7/1. Good luck to all fellow punters.

Morning, all. Why have the ‘Sporting Life’ changed there tried and trusted website layout?!? I ain’t a fan of the new look, me.

As the Black Caviar thread has been closed I can’t have my say but suffice to say in my humble opinion she’s no Dannii Minogue. To use street parlance - He press the button and there was nothing there!

But did we all enjoy the old football?!? More rubbish spouted on the BBC than down at my local refuse dump. Can’t they pull out of covering that sport just like they have done with the old gee-gees. I especially roared at Alan Shearer’s remark that if dear old Mario Ballottelli didn’t curb his behaviour then he’d win nothing in English football. Really, really, REALLY. He’s won an FA Cup and Premier League title, Mr Shearer, and therefore at 21 has already beaten your medal haul!

I like Whispering Hills as well Boris but just not sure at the prices as he's 7/4 and that run last time out doesn't justify that price.

Gray Hessian's race last time out is working extremely well with the two runners both winning next time. That form probably still wouldn't be good enough if the main players in this race can put their best foot forward but if they misfire for whatever reason 16/1 each way is a good looking bet to me there. His bumper form is not that bad and the runs over hurdles have thus far been perfectly creditable.

Speaking of Mars, we definitely would have won the penalty shoot out if the guy from the mars advert was in goal! Shame!

One bet for me today is Dazzling Susie 8.00 Kilbeggan 11/4

Even though i am a big fan of carlito brigante i think he could be in big trouble here. I was very impressed with dazzling susies first run over fences, jumped very well and beat some decent horses by 21 lengths and it could have been even more. I dont think the extra 4 furlongs will inconvenience and i think she could be extremely difficult to peg back here.

had a word about Little China in 2:45 Wolve, dropping back to 5 furlongs after a run at 6 in Notts in May, but Hugh Taylor has gone for one in that race and the Dascombe fav has gone in to odds on so the confidence is fading.
