20 Jun 2012 17:39:17 Bristol City should announce two signings shortly, keeper Neil Alexander from Rangers (free) and Simon Church from Reading (£650,000). Both deals are close to being finalised. 20 Jun 2012 17:27:59 Bristol City have attempted to loan former forward Nicky Maynard from West Ham but have been rebuffed by the player. The Hammers sanctioned the move but Maynard didn't enjoy the final stages of his time at the club and hopes to move to a different Championship club on a season's loan this summer. Elsewhere and McInnes is struggling to attract his top targets to the club. Many players don't believe the ambition of the club matches their own and, of course, City are openly paying less on wages this summer. Aside from Morris around 4 players have rejected contract offers from the club but McInnes continues to talk to 3 other players. 20 Jun 2012 17:24:55 Nicky Shorey has held talks with Bristol City, Leeds and Charlton 20 Jun 2012 17:17:07 Former Bristol City and everton midfielder ray atteveld is poised to be appointed as mark mcghees 1st team coach at bristol rovers, also bristol rovers close to the capture of former newcastle frontman tresor lomana lua lua on a 1 year deal 20 Jun 2012 16:54:02 Stephen McManus expected to join Bristol City for a undisclosed fee from Midddlesbro 20 Jun 2012 12:34:06 leroy lita is to sign this week for bristol city as a replacement for maynard. Also murray davidson will sign for an estimated fee of 250k 20 jun 2012 09:07:57 Getting scott vernon from aberdeen on a free
Surely Lita doesn't bring anything to Bristol City, that we already have in Stead and a fit Ryan Taylor- he isn't a team player, not a particularly efficient predator, doesn't create anything- and his attitude and deamenour sucks. A very devisive piece of work Simon Church though would be a better addition if he plays anything like the way he did for Reading against us.
21 Jun 2012 07:52:05 Bristol City will complete the signing of Simon Church early next week, both clubs and player have agreed terms but is subject to a medical Monday.
Good bit of business if this comes off. I would go and get Leroy top finisher just the player to play alongside Stead or Taylor. would be a excellent signing.
* 21 Jun 2012 16:53:17 talks for lita have broken down as swansea are not keen on selling him. bristol city may still get him on loan for the season. Mustapha carayol is to join bristol city for 500k from bristol rovers. Finally, city will sign 3 centrebacks over the transfer window. these will be keogh, mcmanus and amougou. Fontaine will be sold to southampton and james wilson will also leave. source: my cousin who works at the club Not my cousin, got this from transfer rumours
21 Jun 2012 16:22:02 Bristol Rovers to sign David Clarkson on 3 year deal Jamie McAllister is also joining Carkson at Rovers I don't usually comment on these but I can't even think of Macca joining the "gasheads"...
From the players perspective, why not? As a professional this is a way for Macca to extend his career (and earn money) at a lower level. Practically it means not having to move so no big upheaval for his family. If he went to say Yeovil, it would mean a commute every day. Personally I don't have a problem. Clarkson will be a top player at League 2 level.
Here's another rumour - bearing in mind what DM said about being offered players involved in the Euro's there will be a few of these 22 Jun 2012 22:26:19 Theofanis Gekas is on his way to Bristol City now Greece have been knocked out of Euro 2012.
Wizered ref #391. I know there has been very little transfer activity between City and Rovers for the last 20 years but previously it was quite a regular occurence. Just one or two names to remember who performed mostly with distinction for both clubs; City to Rovers; Cashley, Trevor Jacobs, Phillips, Tony Ford Rovers to City; Peter Hooper, Barrie Meyer, Beadle, Cooper And how about another crossover in the future. When McInnes gets hunted by a top six Premiership club as will surely happen in the next 3 to 5 years, Ollie returns to Bristol as a City manager?
I reckon this will happen, Olly would love to manage city, city's next manager if DM goes or gets shoved.
What was it he said," The only good ****head is a dead one" or something simular....I wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire.....
Wiz that was a long long time ago. Olly has matured into a very good manager playing great football at Blackpool. We have all said, and done, things we regret that is growing up I'm afraid.
