With Holt half out the door were going to need a new captain. This could well be a good thing really mark this out as a new era. I Personally this Johnny Howson should be captain. He leads from midfield anyway and is a great young player who can only get better. He's also been a club captain before do definitely has leadership qualities. I would make Russ vice captain. What are people thoughts on our next captain?
Could see Wes thinking he should get the armband, he's never seemed too ego driven doubt not getting it would effect him, he's also not a guaranteed starter.
We do have several credible candidates which is a good thing. Howson captain, Martin vice is a good call there Bath
It's a close one between Howson and Martin to me, maybe Ruddy up there too? I would probably chose Howson though but would not mind the other two getting it
Yeah, howson for me. But I will he honest that ryan bennett wouldn't be a bad shout either who clearly has leadership qualities!
I don't think Ryan Bennett is experienced enough, Howson has captained Leeds at a young age so he has that leadership experience. Youngest guy to captain Leeds since Billy Bremner I believe. I honestly don't think Ryan Bennett will be first choice in the team next year, I know people won't agree but I think he'll be in and out the team. Great potential but I think he still has a lot to learn.
While Ruddy might be considered as an option/candidate, on a personal level I would not want him to take the armband. I am still of the school of thought that the best captains are outfield players. Howson for me
Depends on who CH brings in cause atm we only have 4cbs and bennett and ayala would be my 1st choice cb pairing way ahead of ward and Barnett!
Howson or Russ for me from the current group, unless like said CH has a signing in mind to do the job?
Personally my first two choices would be Russell Martin and Ayala. Bennett third although Russell Martin would have to fill in currently at right back. I definitely see Martin as a centre back primarily now.

Wes doesn't, or a least didn't under PL, start enough games to be considered Captain. Jonny all the way for me
Funny thing, a few of you saying you don't think GK is a good choice for armband, Spain v France both GK's are captain!
I'd agree with that - not sure that Wes will be starting every game, as I feel we were a more potent threat when we played with 2 wingers; so time wll tell. Howson gets my vote!!
