    Would love Davies. Can't see Svensson happening but wouldn't say no for a season or two-quality experienced player.

    Should be sign them:

    svensson = no
    Davis = yes
    Forster =maybe
    Seedorf= no
    Butland = yes

    Plus what's wrong with being rich?

    Svensson wasn't that good when he was here before. I always liked him but he was solid, there was never much more about him. I'm amazed he has won so many international caps. Plays very much like Hammond. He did put in a few naughty tackles the other night as well.

    To be perfectly honest that Davis and Svensson rumour was in the Sun newspaper, the Sun have changed what Svensson originally said, which was 'I might give Southampton a call to play in the PL, NOT!!' He was joking with the journalist and now the Sun think he wants to sign for Saints... Poor journalism which for me highlights that the Davis deal is probably rubbish as well.

    We're certainly going for the right players!

    Butland, Forster, Rodriguez, Davis, Jarvis - all the sort of player I would love to see here!

    Svensson could be mascot and kick a few opponents in the tunnel; I swear he's shrunk.

    Davis would be good, I think.

    Steven Davis would be a huge signing. Although the SPL isn't great he's the best midfielder in it and has had significant influences in the "Old Firm" matches. If we get him, Jarvis, Dann & Butland I'd be very confident next year.

    There's talk that Rangers may have to start in League 1 next season as two SPL clubs have said they'll vote against them being allowed back into the SPL. That may affect the chance of getting Davis, although he could remain loyal to the club. We bang on about loyalty regarding us, so I wouldn't be surprised if he stayed there. Personally, I think the SPL will cave because of the financial effect of losing Rangers.

    It doesn't specify by how much. For all we know it could be the same wages as Lambert.

    I'd be wary of Davis, and indeed, any player from Scotland. The standard in the SPL has dropped so much that now it is often the case that good SPL players have moved to Championship teams and really struggled, it's tricky to judge true quality. Just out of interest, who was the last good SPL player that put his stamp on the Premiership or indeed the Championship? David Goodwillie was the last player who set the SPL on fire, then moved to England and did nothing. Also look at all the players WGS signed for 'Boro. Barry Ferguson too, star for Rangers and then average at best in England and struggled to get games.

    Just out of interest who was the last SPL player who moved south and did make a great impact. I'm not saying there haven't been any, just that I can't think of any at the moment.

    To be fair to Goodwillie, he's done pretty well too considering he's still very young and was playing in a team that by rights should have gone down. Certainly has potential.

    Aye, that's a good shout. Any others? Because I can think of a lot more Rudi Skacels and Jean-Alain Boumsongs but not too many Jelavics.

    Again I'm not down on Davis as an individual, I haven't seen enough of him, just that signings from the SPL have a track record that is hardly excellent.

    Mikel Arteta, Lukas Jutkiewicz (in the Championship), Kenny Miller (arguably), Stiliyan Petrov, Chris Burke.

    He's 24 this year, certainly a big year for him playing at a lower level, however he did get massively outscored by Yakubu last year, and Yak only played 6 more games. The jury is way out for me, but who knows?

    A lot of Championship players from the SPL, sure. I'm just not sure about Davis, who could be very easily another Barry Ferguson or Liam Miller more than an Arteta who had already turned out for Barca, PSG and Real Sociadad before moving to Everton.

    He does, however, look very good in Old Firm matches. I'd certainly trust him to be better than Liam Miller, several say Davis is the best in the SPL.. not that it's much of an accolade, but who knows.

    He was good for Aston Villa back when he was a kid, so has English experience?
