But we all know he will **** up at some point. Three yellow cards, lack of cards in World Cup final, whats next...?
Lamb is good to. Does such a good job with balancing defending and attacking. Low's reactions are brilliant btw! Edit: Lahm not lamb, but could work I guess!
Yes, I'm surprised by that stat that he hasn't scored in such a while. I've seen some good shooting from him this tournament alone. Let's see what Greece can do now.
Commentator said after Germany have just scored (it's 4-1, BTW): "Germany are through!". They were through after they scored the second goal, never mind the third and fourth. Let's be fair, they were through when they were drawn against Greece!
Weak pen. Got his back to the ball and the ball is smacked at his hand, shame on the ref for giving them a pity pen. No one should feel sorry for Greece, they came to play anti-football and got smashed as they deserved. Greece are a terrible team that got lucky in the group games.
Consolation penalty as they ref was feeling sorry for them. They are nowhere near as solid as they were when they last won the Euro's, and I'm disappointed they knocked Russia out. Russia had a bad game but they had the potential to cause an upset later on - Greece were never going to do that, without some sort of a miracle. Germany are looking ominously good. Although, there was a point where they hadn't scored as quickly as they wanted and they looked a little shaky, which, maybe a better attacking side might have capitalized on. I think the only team which might trouble them are Spain and maybe France. Simply because they have as much (or more) possession as Germany, and the Germans wouldn't like that! They might get frustrated and switch off at the back. I still fancy Spain to win it but Germany are a very close second. After those two, it could really be anyone - not much between the other teams. Spain and Germany are the Rangers and Celtic of these Euro's. Dominant.
Where I generally agree; both teams have shown in every game that if the opposing weaker team is disciplined & takes the chance to be positive during that shakey period these two are definitely human; especially at the back. But yes; you can't really look past them.
There are probably two ways to get at germany and spain: play their game better than them (which they might be able to do to each other), or don't. England and Portugal are apparently top of the scoring-without-possession table, so I suppose an argument could be made for us and portugal being teams which might get some joy when playing them. That could, of course, be complete bollocks and they'll destroy us! I think Spain and Germany are looking very much like they did during the World Cup and, to be honest, if Germany and Spain meet again I'd expect an exact duplicate of their last meeting in the World Cup.
I think Greece were extremely poor and helped to make Germany look good. However, that is not to say Ze Germans aren't good. The worrying thing is, they strolled that game but still won 4-1 despite having swapped their entire first choice frontline and just passing the ball about for the last ten to fifteen minutes to kill the game. Fortunately, I don't think they will beat us.... Unfortunately, that's because we won't be facing them any time soon
