There was a flurry of rumours over the weekend and at the beginning of the week and since Tuesday nothing. I just hope the Italians haven't found something to make them change their mind. On a slightly different, although related topic, one wonders what is happening to the possible moves for transfer targets identified by Sean Dyche and Ross Wilson, over and above all the rumour site rubbish. Also would the new regime, as and when, keep Ross Wilson with his contacts.

'Fishal site now says Timperley and Fransen have received notification of their removal from board of Watford Leisure Limited. I assume that this suggests the takeover is going ahead.
I would suggest that apart from one obvious exception, every owner that Watford have had followed this business model. Back in the 60s and early 70s Jim Bonser sold a player virtually every year to finance the club - Bond, Currie, Eddy, Scullion, Franks etc. come to mind. I, for one, am a realist and know that unless we get in the Premiership, stay there for at least a couple of seasons and develop the ground, then we will remain a selling club whatever the owner's intentions are. After all even SEJ and GT had to sell our best asset eventually.
Now on Watford Observer, looks like a done deal or Baz has forfeted on the bond agreement! So either way no more baz.
Thats true although what would Watford Leisure control? if he defaulted on the bond agreement then surely the club belongs to Ashcroft/Simpson again or if bought would go to them. Will be interesting who owns the pub??
BTW I am not anti Baz I think he took the club forward as far as he could and to be fair to him did more than the previous owners.
You can bet your bottom dollar that Baz has made a tidy sum out of all of this which was obviously his intention all along. Its laughable though that Baz seemed obsessed with just the pub and is now walking away with it............
If I understood the WO fully, Watford Leisure Limited will remain in Bassini's hands after the buy-out as it is the football business that is being sold which is a different company and one that Timperley and Fransen remain as Board members at the moment. I do not know what the ramifications of that are but I guess he will use it as a vehicle to receive the dosh from the Italians and then do what he wishes from then on - i.e. change the company name or do other business or just liquidate it over time.
