BBC, just because Lineker was one of my heroes and Chiles will never be one of my heroes ! The best pre-match and half time analysis I saw was on Al-Jezeera, 2 dudes in the full shiek gear speaking in arabic, with Peter Shilton sat between them looking confused and occassionaly saying something in English !

Why moan about the adverts, as it means less time for inane chatter from the so called pundits?!?!

And the adverts give you a chance to grab a few beers from the fridge before the 2nd half starts.

As I only have the Freeview facility, (no way will I get Sky) I use 301 which shows the pictures and has the 5 live commentary!! Otherwise its 5 Live for me as their analysis is so much better!

I would pick sky - minus gary neville - as the technology and analysis is great - BUT the fact that you pay for sky yet you still get adverts is outrageous!

therefore - sky tech and pundits but shown on the BBC!

As much as I hate Gary Neville he's a good pundit.

I prefer BBC on the tele...but listen to many 5 Live commentaries...anyone agree with me that Alan Green is embarassingly awful. He goes into faux excited mood eveyrtime the ball nears the goal...I think its because they use this inane excitement in 5 Live footie trailers.....problem is, listening to the commentaries, it's difficult to determine for a while if a goal has actually been scored.Keeps moaning about the ref but not announcing the score...hopeless if you're just dipping into the commentary for a score-line. Motty is great on the radio, self decrecatingly announcing "1-0" etc. Also Green is completely up his own arse on 606. I cant get enough of Mrs Logan.

Personally I really like Alan Green as a commentator! Regarding your comments about John Motson I agree - in fact radio makes him a better commentator!

Just curious, how can you announce the score in a self-deprecating way?

Sky hands down surely. Anyone remember the Pompey match in December? The kept focusing on a player for up to 30 seconds while the match was still going on. ITV has pretty poor coverage. Sky are kings, despite all there haters on here

That coverage was totally dire. From memory the game was underway before they gave out the teams. Shocking!

Good question...I know what I mean but would struggle to explain it....hozabout whereas Green is self-promoting and dramatises goalmouth incidents, frantically screaming down the mike, Motty is laid-back and reports the score in a matter-of-fact-seen-it-all-before, low-key, modest style.....which I find pleasing to listen to, informative and easy to comprehend. Can't do better than that mate!

Morals or Sky...hard choice....took me 1 nanosecond. :emoticon-0115-inlovSKY:emoticon-0115-inlov Used to love Beeb, but they have lost a lot of the best technicians and analysts to Sky. Adverts don't bother me as I use the time wisely.

Today, Clarence Seedorf(36) announced he's leaving AC Milan, he said he is not retiring but he is going to continue his football career somewhere else. Boudewijn Zenden proclaimed the same two years ago after his departure at Sunderland but has made more minutes as a pundit then actual playing time.
Seedorf the new regular pundit for the BBC like Ruud Gullit?

Since I don't have Sky, it's the BBC for me. ITV show very little analysis due to shoehorning in the adverts. One other thing; the picture quality on ITV is really poor, clear but really poor resolution.
I do have Freesat as well so ITV1HD gets around that but I won't buy Sky, period.
