First why are none of the Scottish clubs who were owed money not listed? (an indicator to their vote perhaps?)

Also why are the police owed £52k after saying they had been given assurances?

Police Statement on Rangers Football Club
    Published 16 April 2012
Strathclyde Police is issuing the following statement now that it has been confirmed that Rangers Football Club has appointed administrators.

“Strathclyde Police is a public body and has a duty to make sure public resources are used appropriately. We are seeking an urgent meeting with the administrators to ensure that any payment for policing costs at future Rangers games is guaranteed.

“Until we have such a guarantee we would not be in a position to commit public resources to policing an event unless we had a reassurance that our costs would be met.”

    Two days later

A police spokeswoman confirmed the force is planning for Saturday’s game between Rangers and Kilmarnock on Ibrox after a meeting with administrators.

She said: "We have had a positive meeting with the administrators and received assurances about payment for the provision of police services."

You've got to feel for Alan Duncan, whoever the poor bastard is, probably having his windows tanned as we speak.

Does seem a bit strange but could it be that the Scottish clubs that were owed money did not submit claims, in the knowledge that they were going to get little or nothing in any case as well as, perhaps, not wanting to be seen to have anything to do with driving Rangers into liquidation (although, I suppose they could simply have abstained from voting)?

For Celtic and that maybe but Hearts? They are owed £800k. I did hear that they were going to try and keep this stuff out of the press but its hardly a nuclear weapons contract. Now if hearts etc have asked for there vote to be kept confidential fine but why do that? Its the tax man that killed them off, no one else. I would have at least expected Celtic to make it public knowledge they reject it, as that would make good business sense.

The fact it looks like the police have lied and wasted tax payers money is what worries me, and why is ticketus claim in dispute?

£94,426,217.22p is what they owe/owed HMRC.

How come Rapid Vienna are missing too? Didnt their chairman state they would be a no vote to the £1.1m owed for Jelavic?

Yep, they said they would pursue the matter through FIFA against the new Rangers. So either they have been paid somehow or Charles green's new rangers have agreed to honour the debt.

Now I wonder why he has agreed to honour the debt of the Scottish clubs, buying votes perhaps?

That's a very cynical view to take. Surely Mr. Green just doesn't want other clubs to suffer because of Newco? <whistle>

I thinks its naive if people believe this has all came out of the blue. All SPL football clubs have financial people working for them and they would have kept them informed of what is going on.

The CVA had no chance of success so a newco was always going to happen. The clubs will have decided what way they are going to vote months ago. The problem though is financial people only ever see numbers and to them they make more money with rangers in the SPL than without.

That would be commercial suicide in my eyes as the fans who walk away from Scottish football will be gone forever. If the clubs would just look long term and see a greater chance of success will bring in bigger crowds that you could then try to keep hold of.

It looks like they'll be relegated by the league if the teams vote them back in anyway.

This entire thing has become too emotional, political and confusing. I'm sick of reading and hearing about it. Just put a pillow over the face of Rangers, smother them and get this over with.

A peaceful, quiet death is more than they deserve anyway.

I'm not one for using the obsession expression often, but there is an unhealthy dose of this particular noun on the monobrowed board.

Yeah i seen that but that isn't really an option. Lets not forget Livingston were sent to the 3rd division for nearly getting liquidated but managed to avoid it. Can't have one rule for them and one for the rest of us.

It has become boring but that's because they have dragged it out on purpose. They'll probably use the excuse that it would be too much hassle to rearrange the fixtures etc and that we'll just go with status quo. Still though it has been pretty funny the things that have come out of Ibrox. Rangers have surely got to win a bafta for this.

    What's to agree with?

It's just another in a long, long, long line of Rangers related articles.

What else is there to talk about in Scottish football? There is nothing.

There's barely a day goes by without some weird and wonderful thing happening to Rangers. Of course people are going to want to talk about it.

Hopefully when the transfer window opens on 1st July we'll be able to talk about other things like Celtic's exciting new signings and, erm, all the players leaving Rangers.

Not really interested in rangers fans opinions on this though. I have you have a point to make fine, but the majority of rangers fans still can't see what there club has done wrong and how the people running the game are trying to help them.

That list really is shameful, to actually read how much money businesses have lost because of them, and these ****s have the brass neck to bleat about people kicking them when they are down.

    ****ing appalling.
