QPR forward set to depart this summer Ian Cooper Tuesday, June 19, 2012 4:03 PM Campbell accepts his future lies away from Loftus Road DJ Campbell is in negotiations with a number of clubs as he seeks to leave QPR this summer. Campbell fell down the pecking order of forwards at Loftus Road during an injury-hit 2011-12 campaign, and his chances have further been limited by this weekâs arrival of striker Andy Johnson from neighbours Fulham. The 30-year-old former Blackpool man has received no assurances from manager Mark Hughes over his QPR future, and has now accepted that he will have to leave in order to find regular first-team football.
Excellent self awareness and career sense if true. He's not good enough for Sparky. How much for him? Way less than £1.2m I'm guessing........
Feel sorry for him. He really wanted to come and do well, but the injuries/virus etc comspired against him. Good luck to him, wherever he goes.
His unavailability for most of the season means we will never know what he could have done for us. Hughes obviously doesn't fancy him.
I thought he didnt look a bad player would be nice to see him get a chance rather than selling him for a knocked down price. Would be surprised if DJ and Bothroyd leave, would leave us a little short upfront
People were jealous of his Tatts, gold teeth and huge dick that's why he has been shown the door basically. Constructive dismissal I call it.
Yeah. He's not had a real chance with us. He's clearly keen, a QPR boy. Given a run he's proved he can score goals in the PL. I hope he stays and gets a go.
To tell the truth, I had a downer on him ever since I heard Gorkss was sold to pay for him. And he pissed me off every time I saw him warming up looking overweight, with his gold teeth and ****ing neck tattoo not contributing! And I don't give a **** that he's a QPR fan
See exactly what I was saying tatts and Gold teeth, and he can't contribute if he ain't on the pitch to be fair to him. I say get him fit and keep him as back up, Bothroyd can **** right off
Loads of good will however IMO he was never good enough and should think he reached his dizzy heights with Blackpool ... It was a panic buy based on the fact that he scored 13 goals in a mad team in a mad season ... This to me proves exactly how fickle football can be ... you are a hero if you score a goal or two ... how people can then expect the same player to do that at another club is crazy .. DJ campbell proved that regardless of his bad luck IMO he was relegated with a inflated ego, supports QPR and ran to us. I said it was daft at the time and there is no way he could get near HH, JB, DC, BZ and now AJ ... I wish him luck but Reading or Southampton best bet and even then he won't be first choice
