3 points after 5 games??

We all know the fixtures now and boy do we have a baptism of fire on our return to the Premier League.

I feel after the first 5 games we could have a points total of 3 and I see that as the home game to Wigan.

How do you all feel about the amount of points gained from the first 5 games?

Anyone with a little more faith?

find it very odd some of u think we'll beat wigan (who finished the season on a high) yet lose to villa..no logic in that at all

The Wigan game should be a good one. They are capable of playing some very attractive football and certainly no pushover.

Agreed. I don't get those who are already predicting us losing games. Realistic? No, PESSIMISTIC!

 

I'm going 7. Beat Wigan and Aston Villa and a draw at Arsenal.

I would be very happy with that.

 

At least we've got those tough ones out the way early. Wigan is winnable, Villa is winnable and Man U aren't unbeatable away from Old Trafford. I'll go for 7 points as I'm feeling optimistic.

 

Nigel's spent the last 6 hours working out how to smash Man City - he's never had so long to work out a strategy!

I'd be delighted with 7 after 5 games. Think it'll be 4 though.

 

Just imagine travelling down the M6 on 18th August, singing "We are Southampton, we're top of the league!"

 

Every game is winnable. Rather play some top teams early on as they will have had a disrupted pre-season due to players playing in Euros and Olympics. The down side is that confidence may suffer if we lose heavily a few times and then we are playing catch up. For now though I'm just excited to see the list of teams coming up I'm always hopeless at predictions (as are most people because it's an unpredictable game) so I'll not be making any. I am confident we will not be finishing bottom three but nothing is guaranteed.
