Going by his tweets (I posted them above) it would suggest he intends to follow Brendon so probably <ok>

I've not seen much of him playing and so I don't know a lot a great deal about him but I have done a bit of reading and he certainly sounds impressive, especially being voted Player of the Season at Hoffenhiem having only played in thirteen games <ok>

PS - plus I've learn't how to spell his name now so he best join!!!! <grr>

That certainly is impressive. I've only seen what he's done at Swansea but from what I'd seen of him there he has certainly impressed me. If we get him for 6.8m then that's great but we all expect it to be more considering its us. On the plus side, if he does sign, then it will give us something to talk about on here for a while <ok>

I mentioned to you guys before, Brenda's expertise in the transfer market was not the best. His only success was from selecting the best players from where he was at before. So expect him to go after Siggy, Caulker and Borini (the only Swansea players who he can go after as they were loanees). Granted, he will have a bigger budget at his disposal now, but don't say I didn't tell you! Your board may look at it as him being frugal compared to your previous managers signings, but it could be looked at somewhat differently as I'm sure yoiu fans have BIG expectations.

If he's still around next year, you will then see him raid our team!

It's not all doom and gloom .... Siggy, Caulker and Borini are players I'd love to have seen signed by us.

Like people have said caught offside for f**ks sake, really dont see why these clubs had NO INTEREST in Gylfi when Swansea where in for him , now we are in for in for him allegedly every f**ker wants him.I sense Hoffenheim may be leakin a few porkies to the media to try and driver the price up

It will be more than £6.8m. That was an agreed price between Swansea and Hoffenheim as part of the loan agreement, not sure but they may have paid a loan fee to start with too..???

I'd expect the fee to be between £8m and £10m to be honest <ok>

Another thing to consider is we sold them Ryan Babel last year, , with the way deals are set up these days, buy now pay later, we may end up payin less than £6.8m, as they may owe us money on the Babel deal

Rush, Fowler, McManamanan and Carragher were Everton fans too <ok>

You might find that he might go after people that were being looked at by Kenny when he was here. And like you said, he has more money at his disposal here than he did before at Swansea do I'd like to think he'd look for better players than the ones you've mentioned.

He'll probably be talking to the scouts to find out about players we have been tracking. Not many clubs or managers go and sign a player on a wim anymore, they usually have weeks/months worth of reports etc on them. I think this is the reason we see players linked to us now that were being linked three or four months ago despite it being a different manager <ok>

Don't start getting into dodgy accounting. If they still owe us £4m for Babel so we wrote that off and only paid £2.8m, it will have still cost us £6.8m as we wouldn't be getting that forecasted income <doh>

The 'we only paid X because they owed us Y' approach just sounds better in arguments by fans but is very easily picked apart as bullcrap <ok>

(used the £6.8m fee for arguments sake)

Caulker,Borini,Gylfi all look v good players.Think Caulker is unlikely as CB is one of our strongest positions, plus dont think Spurs would let us have him, think the other 2 are more likely

Lads don't cream yourself too much over the job rodgers did at swansea most of the work was completed before he got there. The press are giving all the credit to him but beleive me the players were there long before he came, jacket, flyn, martinez, sousa and the chairman set it up nicely for him ,he did add something but do not read too much in to the press view of him at swansea, there is this myth that he refused to change his methods because of his belief in them the real reason was he did not know how to play another system, anyone who saw our game against QPR at loftus road would bare testiment to that, so don't get too excited just yet.

You've made this argument about 100 times and we understand the logic behind it but you forget one simple fact....a bad manager can still come to a very well run club with a very well set up team and totally **** it up. BR didn't do that....he came in and took you to the next level. Whether or not this would have happened under Sousa or Martinez for example we can debate until the cows come home but it won't change the fact that the man who DID do it is Rodgers <ok> Time for you to swallow the pill I think and get on with life under Laudrup who you should be very excited about having. I hope he does as good a job for you as BR did.

Logic dictates that the scouting system had looked at hundreds of players, and the manager will sit down and say "I want a player who can....." And the head scout will offer him options. Rodgers may have been to look at a couple of players for Swansea next year, but, as stated, this is nit Swansea, he can now look at much better options. I mean, Swansea didn't eeven have a training ground, I hardly think they will have a scouting network anything as big as ours. So to answer the bitter swans fan, your transfers are only as good ad your scouting network, plus the attraction of the club.

It is also worth pointing out that after the failure of last years crop of signings, this year it will be more of a committee effort.

According to reports in Germany he has agreed a deal with Spurs. Which is strange as they have no manager and it doesn't even look like we spoke to him.
