With another addition to my family (at last, a boy!!!) and expecting my away travels to be a bit more limited this season, just wondered what would be the most popular/best away day experience?

Reckon I can get to two away games (not including Reading and Southampton who are close by).....so have to choose wisely.

For the overall awayday experience I'd go for Everton- good city, decent atmosphere, old-fashioned away end. Also you'll be guaranteed to get tickets. Of the London grounds I'd probably go for West Ham, assuming you've been to them all at least once. The Emirates was nice but felt more like a theatre than a football ground.

Avoid Old Trafford- over-hyped and full of ****s.

I am looking forward to Saints. Always had a good day out at St Marys. Pub before/nice ground/ok fans and spending the night on south coast. <ok>
Not Reading always seemed to be ruined by Sky or a Friday night game. No pubs by ground and stadium miles from a decent bar. The 'hoops' thing for me it's old hat now and being easy to get to is the only thing i look forward to.
I will enjoy West ham again because its a proper club but hate the Tube journey after.
I don't think i will waste my money on Chelsea away again and Arsenal is a boring ground.

Echo Watfords sentiments, avoid Old Trafford at all costs. It isn't a football ground by any stretch of the imagination.

If I were you I'd do Newcastle or Man City away.

But my personal favourite away days are Tottenham, Arsenal and West Ham by a country mile. Fulham is decent but I hate the neutral stand.

Man City is brilliant though, Sunderland not bad either as you can just spend the whole time in Newcastle which is a stones throw away

If you can only do one away trip next year make it Norwich. The experience of humiliating the yellow and green vermin at last will be worth it, even if the drive is long and the locals challenged.
Other than that Newcastle tops by a mile.

So seems like West Ham and Newcastle are top of the list. No surprise with the toon, but am a bit surprised with West Ham.

I guess footy fans still love an original stadium, unlike Emirates. I thought Goodison and Fulham were great, despite the arse-kicking!! Wonder if AJ would return the favour if he joined us?!

I think a few beers at the Saints game is necessary, don't you?
