I am sure he will! Unless you think Nigel and Rickie won't want to beat Liverpool next season??

I want Ireland to beat Italy and Spain to beat Croatia. That would mean we face Croatia in the quarter final if we top our group.

But then that's different, because your country and patriotism will be held in higher regard than the football team you support surely?

I'd always choose club over country but have to agree with Jakes point, exactly why I don't like foreign managers of national sides.

Any manager will want his team to win. It's his job and he has a rapport with his players. You might be sorry that you put your country out of a competition, but you'd be more sorry that your team lost again.

Italy will beat Ireland, because Ireland aren't good enough, but I'm not convinced by Italy.

Inside knowledge of a team will help Trappatoni, plus there is no pressure on Ireland, so who knows.

People keep talking about quality teams but I can only see two: Germany and Spain, with perhaps France and Russia as outsiders. However, this tournament is wide open as there are a lot of good/decent teams of similar levels.

After an eventful day yesterday, what is everyone's predictions for today's final set of Group A matches?

    Czech Republic 1-1 Poland
    Greece 0 - 2 Russia

Yes, one would expect Russia and Poland to go through.

I think they've been good so far the only thing that they have lacked is finishing.Balotelli hasn't been firing on all cylinders but once he gets going I think Italy will brush past teams.
