But then that's different, because your country and patriotism will be held in higher regard than the football team you support surely?
 
I'd always choose club over country but have to agree with Jakes point, exactly why I don't like foreign managers of national sides.
 
I am a very patriotic person.., and a very proud English man and will support my Country be it Football or Cycling.. But that isn't to say i hold it as High as the team i've followed since i was small.. It will always my heart.. I Cry with the team on worse days and Cheer em on in teh better ones.
 
Inside knowledge of a team will help Trappatoni, plus there is no pressure on Ireland, so who knows.

People keep talking about quality teams but I can only see two: Germany and Spain, with perhaps France and Russia as outsiders. However, this tournament is wide open as there are a lot of good/decent teams of similar levels.
 
After an eventful day yesterday, what is everyone's predictions for today's final set of Group A matches?

Czech Republic 1-1 Poland
Greece 0 - 2 Russia
