Why is everyone so hard on Rednapp ?... He's a great manager with a track record of improving any player he works with,
Except Traore, Lauren, Utaka, Diop, Burchill, Crowe, Vincent, Diabate, Pitt, Robinson, Bradbury, Barret, Kawaguchi, Cooper, Nightingale, Vine, Tardiff, Pettifer, Burton, Edinburgh, Faye, Wapenaar, Duffy, Curtis, Mornar, Olzar, Pulis, Hunt, Keene, Guatelli, Mezague, Ashdown, Vignal, Karadas, Mbesuma, Songo'o, Fuller, Olisedebe, Routledge, Diao, Douala, Mvuemba, Aubey, Baros, Nugent, Little, Hughes and Cranie. And that's only Portsmouth.
taking the best players from other teams (like Pienaar) and making them a success at the new club.
Sometimes he does, sometimes he doesn't. Nugent was one of the best players at Preston and he only became a success at Pompey under Cotterill, Diop was one of the best players at Fulham but he was a flop at Pompey, Diomansy Kamara was a main forward at Modena but was barely a sub under Redknapp, Fuller was a star at Preston but a flop at Pompey, Olisedebe had been one of the best players at Panathinaikos but not at Pompey.
He's extremely loyal to the cause and always overachieves given the budgets he has available to him.
Unless the money dries up then he'll jump ship quicker than you can blink. He's only got loyalty to himself.
He's particularly good at managing clubs through difficult situations and seeing them through to the end.
Like he did at Southampton, or during his final years at Bournemouth.
It's not his fault that the clubs he works for end up having money problems (he's very responsible in the transfer market) and certainly doesn't himself believe what is written in the Sun..
Like spending over £100million at Pompey and bringing in only enough to make about a £9million profit? Which was clearly not enough to even cover the wages of half the first team. So yeah. Really responsible spending there.
I really don't understand why there is such an anti Harry Rednapp emotion. I hope we see much more of him and wish him plenty of success for his future...
To be honest, having written all this in response, I'm not sure whether you were taking the piss to begin with. But to answer the question; if nothing else it is Redknapp the person that people hate more than Redknapp the manager. As a person Redknapp is a habitual lier, an egomaniac and someone more than willing to court the media to sing his own praises and get what he wants, someone who is fully prepared to undermine his boss and turn fans and the board against each other, all the while playing the cheeky chap/Del Boy like character he established years ago and washing his hand of any responsibilty for the discord he caused and acting like the victim, like he has no idea how anything bad could have happened despite his part in it.
