Definitely a different style of player. Apart from being north African and full of himself the comparison eludes me. Certainly Mido bears no similarity to Lallana.

If i was thinking of a north african footballer in the premier league, Hadji was probably as similar as we can get in playing style and that's not particularly similar.

I think there was another egyptian player called Zidan who was ridiculously skillful

No, I know that. The comparison was between Mido and Taarabt, and that they both are very skillful players yet have made, as yet, similar impacts upon the PL, probably due to a poor attitude, more than anything else. The similarity to Lallana was that he is also a very skilled player indeed, who could possibly shine brightly or be a damp squib too. However, as I pointed out, I believe he'll succeed brilliantly, as his attitude has always been superb.

Why would anyone keep their eye on Schneiderlin? He's rubbish!

We are all entitled to our opinion... ... no matter how misguided that might be. <doh> Although I have to write that you are the first person I know of to remark that Schneiderlin is "rubbish". Still, its always good to learn something each day... ... no matter what.

I think he was being sarcastic.

Pieking, it's only Arsenal/Arsene Wenger that we need to convince schneiderlin is rubbish.

Lallana is a class class player, a real joy to watch. He loves having the ball at his feet can beat his man, he has a brilliant football brain and can pick a pass, this aspect is often overlooked but is vital to our midfield. We have some other key players but for me Lallana is the player who makes me most excited to watch the saints he can pull of some peices of just pure class.
Its going to be a step up for him and he may either take it by storm or take abit of time but hes a true saint it would be terrible to see him leave, I dont think he will.

Thanks for the kind words tbh I cant see qpr struggling as much next season (you do need to get rid of Barton though!). I'm hoping for anything above 18th but if some of our key players perform and a couple of new additions hit the ground running we could easily take a nice comfortable midtable place (jeez its been years since weve done that!)

Good point! In all honesty as much as adam is my favourite saints player I really think Morgan will destroy some established midfields next season. Hes the type of player who does better at higher level I think he will be the revelation of our team next season.

I was doing the old "pretend the player is rubbish so nobody notices him."

Could be right on the first point - certainly right on the Arsenal comment. I think overall we look okay in the central midfield department, good on the left but lacking on the right. Its the back four and central defence and goalkeeper that needs reinforcing.

Taarabt is a selfish show pony. He tries to beat everyone before scoring the perfect solo goal. PL defenders are a lot harder to beat because they don't throw themselves at him, so he doesn't do it. Lallana doesn't always strike the ball perfectly, but his control is excellent, as is his vision and movement. He can do a Cruyff turn too. He's not the most pacy or clinical player, burt he does come into his own with players like that around him.

I'm not sure we'll get away with playing him on the left without an extra man covering in midfield as he often leaves Fox exposed when he cuts inside.

What team were you playing? Was it the Ballymena team, or one of the school teams like the Academy? It wouldn't be Cambridge House surely <laugh>

Academy, Cambridge House are woeful.

My team (Belfast High) is usually a very good side up until senior level, then the big boys (Belfast Inst, Methody etc) hopelessly overpower us.

Not sure if I can actually say they're 'my team' anymore - I've just finished my A-levels :undecided:

One thing I will say is that you will probably struggle to find someone who does the Cruyff turn better than Lallana.

Maybe Cruyff did it better..? Only kidding, Adam does it really well. I once saw Anders Svensson do it and it looked really mechanical. He didn't beat his man. ;)
As it happens, I used to do it when I played for my schools back in the late 1960s- early 70s. Sadly, I wasn't on the TV. I suspect mine was more akin to Anders' than Adam's.

Haha I'll have to take your word for it fella!
