£3.5m ? Not a chance. £500k max for him. He signed on a 4 year contract in August, but has been edged out by Vaz Te and Maynard. Wonder who you could get for £3.5m. Probably someone decent.
£3.5m is probably more than our entire budget, so I certainly don't buy into that. Especially when he should be valued at £1m, maybe £1.5m max.
Having said that, West Ham are hardly going to sell him cheaply, just a year after paying a package deal that could rise to £2.75m.
All the same I'm starting to feel let down Bruce has been in the job for a full 6 hours and he hasn't signed anyone yet.
I think this is a small club problem that people have been going on about for a year now. If we're going to challenge for promotion we can't just have 2 decent defenders at a time, we need to have players capable top step in and do a job when required even if they aren't 1st choice all the time. I would like to see us sign: 2 Goalies 1 CB - First choice 1 RB - Cover for Rosenior (could be the same person as the CB) Dawson or another LB. 1 CM - Someone who can pass and attack, not just a tackler. That or use Cairney ffs! 2 Wingers - King and another 1 Striker - Someone a bit different. In the Adebola mould. Heskey would be exciting. That's 9 players so maybe a bit greedy but the only one I think we maybe don't need is the CM (because we have Cairney and using him more often would be like a signing) but I think we pretty much need the rest of them.
3.5M for Baldock and you thought we wasted money If you willing to pay that for him you might aswell double it and go for Jordan Rhodes
Hi and good evening proud fox. Just a thought, but if you find yourself at a loose end with nothing to do sometime why don't you pop over to the Leicester room?
To be honest, I think with getting Bruce (which shows a statement of intent), we will splash the cash and for the Allams just to prove a point I thoroughly believe that rumour
Only big player, yeah. Craig Gordon, Trevor Carson, Lewis King, Liam Bagnall, Jordan Lavender, James Brace, Brett Elliot, Jordan Cook and Oumare Tounkara. We were linked with Tounkara earlier this year though.
Fergie reckons he was a standout player for Coventry last season, and he did well enough at Scunny to attact the attention of Cov in the first place. I'm not sure what his role actually is though. I know he was tipped to be the next Beckham by SSN a few years ago, based on his ability at set pieces, so it surprises me to see him compared to McKenna. You might be right though.
Should have kept Garcia, he fills most of these roles. Sure he'd have a go in goal if he was given the chance!
Agreed, but presumably Bruce was involved with the decision not to, based on him saying he's been discussing the job for a couple of weeks.
