Poor article really, 17 goals in 4yrs (to keep it simple 4 per year) and 26 assists is 6 (.5 just for you PNP!) per year, this is the form attracting all top clubs is it for a playmaker/attacking MFer???....fuk me sideways! You should check other similar players stats, David Silva just this season for example, 8 goals and 13-17 assists (discrepancies already depending on source!) and you feel you're knowledgable enough to put this in a blog! Back to the drawing board and do some homework is my suggestion.
I have trouble keeping two issues separate. 1. Is this the right time to sell Modric? and 2. The danger of seeming, let alone being, a selling club. In other words, if someone comes along with the right price for Modric, it would be good to sell him if it weren't for the possible knock-on effect on the other players--that they'll be likelier to want to leave, and/or get more money. The other issue is, who can replace Modric? There simply aren't many top playmakers. Even potential top playmakers get big money. And there's no doubt that selling Modric without getting a good replacement would be bad. So, to me, it's more like 40 million, rather than 30, that would make selling him a good plan.
So it looks like he's going so goodbye,but I would like to say to him that he's making a mistake I think. Competition for places will be fierce.
Don't be so sure. Going where? Chelsea surely aren't interested anymore. Don't believe all this guff about Utd. They won't, or can't pay what Levy will ask. I think Levy has scared most potential suitors off. City? An outside possibility. Otherwise, it looks like he'll have to go abroad if he's that desperate to get away. Sell him....£35 - £40m could be well invested back in the team. An arrogant pratt who sulked at the beginning of the season and disappeared during the bad run. I think anyone who behaves like him, Carrick, Berbatov, Keane etc. should just **** off to the club of their dreams and we can get good money for them.
