YaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaY We got that big premier league team we were promised, ohhhhh wait, its Southampton the team we played twice last year.....No thanks ill save a tenner
Shiny, I mean this in a friendly way - my first boss told me a long time ago to 'engage brain before speaking'. You WILL be there because you will be desperate to see our new signings. I can't wait.
im not saying it isnt a big game, but they said we wanted to get a premier league team, when Southampton haven't kicked a ball as a premier league team yet, just a bit disappointed were playing a team like this.
This is the most balanced pre-season program we have had for a while,no fancy trips in the sun,no fancy continental teams to stuff us,just a well balanced selection of teams to bring us up to full fitness and blend the players together,a pragmatic and well thought out approach,I am more than happy with DM's thinking... Sat, Jul 28th - St Johnstone (A), 3pm Mon, Jul 30th - Dundee (A), 7.45pm Wed, Aug 1st - Dunfermline (A), 7.45pm Sat, Aug 4th - Bristol Rovers (H), 1pm Tue, Aug 7th - Southampton (H), 7.45pm Sat, Aug 11th - Bournemouth (A), 3pm
I'm looking forward to it. I don't care that they have not kicked a ball in the premiership yet. They have a big following and a point to prove against us. So should be a good one
Shiny Compared to playing the likes Tiverton Town, Clevedon, Forest Green and all other those crappy little teams that have done absolutely nothing for our pre-season warm ups over the last few years, Southampton is a massive step in the right direction for me
Your alright Shiny, just a little disappointed with the fixture that's all. But as Wiz says we're in it together
we get sick and tired of beating you na in all seriousness just disappointed, thought we would get an established premier league team, everton, sunderland, fulham etc..
One day Shiny you'll look back on this fixture and think to yourself "I remember when we beat (as you undoubtedly will) those Saints in a pre season friendly. Who'd have thought they would go on to win the Prem that season?" Of course it may not be exactly like that and I know you must be getting bored of winning against us but it's a good fixture nontheless. All the best for the new season.
Im sure it would be more like this i remember beating southampton 3 times in 12 months, then meeting them the following season and again doing the double whilst winning promotion to the prem It could happen
"In your dreams mate. You will never get into Premier League" This is why I hate em, arrogant tossers.. You're not the only one disappointed Shiny, like you say a nothing prem side who will probably get relegated next year. no top players and not a particular draw. The Rovers game will now be bigger.
