I must be the only fan who doesn't particularly want him to stay.
Not because I think he's 'betrayed' us or anything like that. With all that he has done for the club, he owes us nothing. I just think if we can get £5m or more for him, we should sell him and use the money to buy a young up-and-coming striker. Holt's 31 and his performances are going to decline and we'll never get more for him than we will now.

I think we should sign him up for the next 3 years. Even if we got relegated at some point in the next two years we could sell him and still make money on what we bought him for and if we stay up keeping him would have been justified. Theres also nothing to stop us signing him on for the 3 years and then selling him next summer if we wanted two which would also help to maximise his value. As things are next summer we will be almost forced to accept an offer for him if he wanted to go somewhere else as he would be enterring the final year of his contract.
I think a happy Holt is well worth the extra year and I feel hes one of the players that really deserves to be the highest earner at the club. I know we have a budget but Holt should be at the top of that.
Let's hope it gets resolved and he is still here next season.
