Quick question after reading about Badman Barton's bemusement at being overlooked for England duty...

Would you, as Sunderland and England fans, have him in the England squad?

Honestly don't know. There's no doubting his quality, and his free kicks and crosses are top class. But I still can't get out of my head the fact that he was - and I reckon still probably is - a total arsehole.

So was Gazza but it never stopped him. Piss head, wife beater, all round knob head but fantastic with a ball at his feet.

Not saying Barton is by any means in the same class but he's done enough to deserve a shot.

Refreshing to see you lot not saying no for the sake of it, hes definitely worthy of a shot in my book even if its just for a friendly to see if he can step up to the plate.

Would you also have him in your Sunderland starting 11? And if so who would you take out to accommodate him? And who wouldnt you take out?

Would definately have him in the team ahead of Gareth Barry.

How many of them lazy ****'s in the England set up are on second and third chances regarding their personal lives.

Say what you like about Barton. I personally think he is a cock but at least he shows passion!

Blokes a complete tosser, but reckon he would play his socks off in an England shirt, so the answer my friend is yes, at least the bloke has got a bit of passion in him, cant say the same for the old guard though.

Agree with billofengland on this comment, but he's got form that other teams will expose and we'll be down to 10 men soon enough. Put him in the squad.....maybe......

Totally agree with Barton this time, about time someone said something about Barry too as he is unbelievably slow for a footballer and shouldnt be near the England shirt. I'm sure Barton's goals/assists ratio is far superior to Barry's also.

I would also have him in the England squad but once again it boils down to Capello's reluctance to choose players from the North-east.

If he is best in his position at the time of the squad announcment then yes.

It should be thesame with any player though, the team should be picked on form not on who they play for

Nowt refreshing about it mate, SAFC suporters are renowned and well liked for their football knowledge and fairness! <ok>
Where as other teams get labelled with the likes of "Deluded" and "obsessed" by the rest of the Prem. :p

    As for your loaded question!
