Cardiff with their loss of identity and history,Swansea with their loss of a manager,"gasheads" still down at the bottom of the 4th tier and struggling,Exeter relegated,Yeovil just surviving,Plymouth still bottom of the basement,Hereford gone out of the league,Torquay missing promotion,Cheltenham missing promotion,Swindon although promoted too the 3rd tier have personal problems with manager Di Canio.. Bristol City with DereK Mcinnes in charge,Louis signed his contract, quality players going to arrive, all the hangers on,over paid merchants and below quality players removed. Am I glad I support Bristol City Football Club....What a Difference 12 Months Make....Up the City.
'Gas'...... 2010/11 - Relegated from 3rd tier... 2011/12 - 13th in the 4th tier... What a difference 12 months make....
Not denying that we've had a cr*ppy year oldboy, just mystified as to how yours has been so wonderful! Hope you had a good Jubilee.
Fair play to Wiz, he does like a laugh! It's either that or he'll post just about anything just for the sake of posting
To be fair to Yeovil they are probably punching above their weight I can't believe any Rovers fan is happy being in the 4th division and 2 leagues below us
It's funny how we get 2 very sensible "gasheads" reacting to my personal comment of how things for us have changed over the last 12 months after our Johnson,Millen and Copout disasters. Things for us have changed, don't they get it yet....?
This next 12 months will tell us where the club is going. I think the decisions of SL finance wise. The transfer arrivals by DM, and the quality of those signings will dictate how our season goes. At present unless some very good signings arrive we are going to struggle again next season. The arrivals are going to make or break our season.
I also agree and the point of my thread was how great it is to be in a position to accomodate the changes,no longer do we have the burden of over paid, under achieving players,no Nicky Maynard,David James and a host of other angels sucking us dry. DM saved us from the drop and he is poised to now take us forward, just hang on for the ride,we've not had it for a while but in my opinion we are on our way to successful consolidation.
Towards the end of last year you kept saying DM was not the man for the job, he kept us up. Now you keep saying that the quality of signings will see what sort of manager he is. We are a club losing 11 million a year, he has got rid of 8 players, if he replaces them we will be back with a oversized squad. We have to still sell a few to replace some players so prepare for another season with loan players and down in the bottom half of the table next season. This is not a going to be a quick fix we have been in trouble for a while now, and it will take a while to get ourselves out of it. We can't keep expecting SL to dig into his own money to fund a leaking club. Any marquee signings like DJ cost the club. I trust DM and if he buys players I have not heard of then so be it.Norwich, Swansea, Blackpool and Southampton were all teams of unknowns who played for their clubs with passion that is the sort of players I want, not players who everyone has heard of but cripple the finances even more.
Yep I agree anything above 15th will be fantastic. Personally think we are in for another tough season. I think we have to realise under current stratigy we are a team making up the numbers in the championship.
