So Cardiff will play in Red and have a dragon on the badge.Chairman Mao's next move is to ban fans chanting " Bluebirds".Also every season ticket holder will be issued with a little red book with all rules and regulations on how he wants them to behave!!!!!!

part of the DM article "One outraged fan said on Twitter: 'I will never step foot inside Cardiff City Stadium while the club plays at home in red. Gutted and betrayed. Liars' "

    :emoticon-0102-bigsm

"Key to the strategy is to ensure that the club representing as it does the capital city of Wales projects a national identity which will resonate with potential audiences abroad." - Ye right! Swansea Has premier league football, not the red bottlers! <party>

I've just seen the badge, and,in all fairness,it's quite attractive.

They are clearly sending out a message that they feel they are The Team who represent Wales.

The Dragon is universally recognised as being the symbol of Wales, and they shouldn't be allowed to cheapen it by highjacking it so blatantly.

Someone in authority should have the balls to tell them they simply cannot use The Dragon in such a way.

An image of The Castle,or The Exchange Building,or whatever it's called, would be more appropriate.

Start our own petition and send it to the welsh assembly. Or rise above it and laugh as they continue to lose money hand-over-fist and bottle it in the play-offs despite their 'lucky' red shirts.

I agree with Vetcharian. Cardiff playing in red and being allowed to wear the Dragon is like West Ham playing in white and wearing the Three Lions of England.

Yes when you look at it like that I can see its wrong, but Wrexham have a dragon in their logo as well. Still think they should have fitted franchise there somewhere ;)

Spare a thought for Wrexham. Red shirts and a dragon on their badge, it's their identity that's being stolen

I'm not too familiar with the Wrexham badge. Is the Dragon as prominent?

Perhaps Wrexham have cause to complain.

P.S. Just googled their badge, and it's use of The Dragon is more subtle, and tasteful.

Cardiff's new badge is "in your face" Dragon, and I think that's what I have against it.

They are making a bold statement, whereas Wrexham are not.

As a welshman, i feel only the national team should really be able to have such prominent use of the dragon on the crest. Therefore It's ripping off the National kit IMO. (and i pity Wrexham too, maybe they should make their kit blue?)

But that wouldn't sell in Malaysia. They seem to think that playing in red and having a dragon on their shirts will do the trick. It won't. At least not until they hit the Premier League. Leicester have more money than them and look how that worked out.
