Oh dear. Go back through the thread, and if you're bright enough, you'll see it was YOU who first brought into doubt the question of being a real fan by calling us 'suspect'. Your reputation on this board was gone long before I arrived, so feel free not to show your face on here again.

I don't know what your problem is, and I don't want to know; you clearly have a far greater opinion of yourself and your own views than they warrant, and you clearly have serious issues, as is evident by the fact that you seem unable to handle even the remotest detraction from your views. On the old 606, you often had your cage rattled by anyone who dared to question your frequent espouses and ITK insights, and I confess that I would often take delight in seeing you undone. I wouldn't have given you a second thought other than that your head is so far up your own arse I often saw you licking your own tonsils.

You clearly don't share my sense of humour. Many don't. You clearly often fail to see the ironic intent in much of what I write, taking as literal something I intended as mere froth. That often happens to me, and it is something I can live with. I dare say you have a sense of humour, although I suspect that it is a cruel one that works best when it is undermining others. But it's your apparent personal targeting of me that I find most intriguing.

...but why are they suspect?...of what?

Anyone who blindly follows another person, no matter what mistakes or errors or judgement they make, must alway be suspect. Surely?

It's a generalisation of mine. You might not agree with it. Good. This is a debating forum. I was under the impression that opinion was what drove these sorts of places.

Silly me. How could I be such a fool.

I know! How about this...?

Let's get Spurcat to devise a load of topics for us to write about each week, and we can all agree with what he says?

Job done <ok>

I think you'll find that Notso made a reasonable enquiry as to what you meant. I see no need to be rude, facetious, or aggressive in your response. Anyway girls, this is getting boring now, can we put the handbags away, please?

And I provided a reasonable response first time round. Notso pushed his point, trying to find a better reply, when there clearly isn't one.

ffs!

I see no need to be:-

I wasn't. Sarcastic? Perhaps, but only a little. Certainly not rude.

facetious,

Not in the slightest. Quite the reverse, in fact. I took what notso said seriously enough to reply.

or aggressive

How can you read into anything that I wrote as being aggressive? You might not have liked my reply, but that doesn't make it aggressive.

See, I'd give you some credibility for this remark if you hadn't spent the best part of your post in slagging me off. Therefore, this remark is clearly aimed at me, and not at all at Spurcat.

Why is it that you lot seem to be scared witless by Spurcat? Has he got incriminating photos of you all shagging sheep or his family dog, or something?

I give up!! You just don't get it, do you?? <doh>

Listen here Hiag, wtf are you on about, me push what point??? Perhaps you can explain that one too, I asked you a simple question in a post of yours, as far as I can tell from your less than satisfactory answer, its that because one person thinks Harry should stay, everyone who thinks that susequently is a sheep. You bleat (:D) on about differeing views being good on a forum, its normal to listen to both sides and make a decision is it not? Yet its you casting aspersions about an entire group of people with a different view to you. Sorry, but you're being a bit of a hypocritical tit there, and stop referring to Spurcat in your replies to me if you don't mind, i'm not the slightest bit interested in what you have to say to him. As for being scared! <laugh>, I've just disagreed with him about Robert Green...yes, I did, I dared to go against a goalkeeping scout about a keeper...what was I thinking! <yikes> <laugh>

Morning all - hope all the toys have been collected up ok and we are ready to debate the day??? <whistle>

Anyway - The Times this morning has an article on the latest developments in the Redknapp contract negotiations with news that he has employed agent Paul Stretford, so no guessing where the source of this article comes from.....

Seems as if there may be doubt about the Boards desire to invest in more than a further year - and suddenly mention that Harry may have another option: not England this time, now it's an unnamed club in the Gulf.

Can't post any link - sorry.

Finally, we got back onto the subject of my original post! It was getting ugly in here.

It's one of the reasons I stayed off the BBC 606 so much, there was too much aggression. It's unlike this site as it's normally excellent for football debate.

OK time for some perspective I think. The spat that occurred on this thread is not to the liking of a number of posters and in an ideal world would not happen.

However take into account that this is a debating forum that depends on opposing views for it's very existence it is not surprising that from time to time things will get a little heated. Overwhelmingly this forum produces good debate so I think we have to allow some leeway to posters who occasionally lose it. You always have the option to ignore or to create a new thread to divert the discussion. I would not like not606 to fall to the level of ja OR to be 'controlled' to the extent that BBC606 was. The group of posters we have on here should ensure that neither happen so let's be tolerant of all shades of opinion and perhaps turn a blind eye to the odd scrap.

ALL we have in common is our love for Spurs the rest, our views, our lifestyles, our humour, are diverse and it's understandable when these differences appear.

Base insults will be moderated, but strong views will sometimes include bile and we should hesitate to moderate held beliefs, even when we don't like them.

If Redknapp's trying to play hardball with Levy by bringing in Stretford, then I think he may have made a very poor decision, there.
Don't think that he's sending out the right message at all and I don't think that the chairman will be too pleased with it.

EDIT: As Spurf has said, feel free to passionately disagree about anything, but keep it civil, please.
Someone can hold an completely different opinion without being a twat.

I think we're meant to be civil amongst ourselves. Wum's? That's different. They're fair game, IMO. The aptly named Gaf, is a ****** anyway. It almost feels cruel to take potshots at him!

Totally agree PNP - and as I recall Redknapp has been none too complimentary about players using agents - so smacks of hypocrisy.

Personally, I cannot imagine what an agent would be likely to influence around a new contract for Harry at this time. Whether we want or don't want him as manager next year, I am damn sure that his position is not strong enough for him to consider himself indispensable. If he wants to stay then the best way he can do that is by setting out a clear plan for next year with future planning for succession planning built in.

If he wants to move on then Stretford may be of more use negotiating with the Sheikhs!!

Could that be why he's brought him in?

Exactly!!
Mind you, the idea that Harry would take a gig in the Middle East takes some understanding - lets face it, the NE of England was apparently too far from his beloved Sandbanks, so I cannot see him being at least a 7 hour plane ride away. It's not as if he needs the money either.

Having said that, he could probably teach a few of the locals in the Souk tips on bartering!! Would be fun seeing him strolling down Old Baladiya Street in kandoura and ghutrah......
