Don't reply after coming back from the pub....

Thanks for all the good luck but js really? No effect back here?! The hot bed of terrorist training that is the border between afghan and Pakistan has a clear impact on life back home. Whether that be longer times at venues or airport security to people blaming some innocent Muslim in the street for being a terrorist. You could say its done nothing as we aren't getting blown up in costa coffee on a Wednesday lunch time, a tad facetious I know, but at the same if we weren't there you might get blown up at costa coffee (purely because sfc players hang out there) on a Wednesday! Personally I think people having the right to a free life and education without persecution is worth fighting for and terrorist training camps aren't conducive to that!

Remember, if you have the power to help, even if you don't have too, you should because you're the one who can!

Ps. Devils advocate: Afghan has large mineral wealth...

I'm not saying it's having no effect, please don't get me wrong on that, but I'm not sure you're fighting for our freedom so much as you are fighting for the Afghans. Those are the people whose country needs fighting for.

I haven't been drinking by the way ;)

Ok, this may make you want me away more often.

whilst I was away last season stats

The two lost were millwall and palace in the cups! First game back in november lose 2 0 to bristol city and in march lose 3 0 to Blackpool... Cursed!

<laugh> Can't say I'm particularly superstitious either! Maybe you should stick around so you can actually witness this wonderful period in our club's history. :)

I work in a town in Asia in which the majority of the expat community are Pakistanis, Indians, Arabs, and North Africans. They are all Muslim, and they are all legends. When we all go out clubbing, they never get drunk, always act the most responsible, and are always the ones looking after wasted Westerners, who have gotten into fights, too drunk, lost, etc etc

They never feel the need to discuss their faith with me. However, a lot of the Christians I meet out her, well,. I find it very offensive the way they bang on about God and how they implicate that believers are somehow above non-believers. If anyone thinks for a second that those psycho bible-belt crazies wouldn't being doing the same things as Al-Qaeda under different circumstances, they're wrong.

The terrorists are not doing these things because of the Muslim faith, but they are USING the Muslim faith as their justification.

This is one of the few things I agree with Ron Paul on. Politicians and the media have done a very good job of skirting over the things that Bin Laden said in those videos he made. He made it very clear that the 9/11 attacks were simply a response to the unwelcome American forces being stationed all over the Middle East. The powers that be in the western world would love to have us all believe that it was simply because Islam is anti-western and promotes violence. Not true at all.

Good luck out there huwliet. There's plenty of heroes in Afghanistan, the aid workers who risk being killed or ransomed, the SAS soldiers that rescue them, the tribal leader who gives up the Taliban to support the ISAF, the young Afghans who join the ANA or police, the private clearing minefields with not much more than a metal detector, the girls who go to school for the first time or the Christians and Sikhs who practice their religion. No one is saying that Afghanistan is going to turn into a beacon of democracy and freedom instantly. it's going to take a long time and a lot of work. But it's going to be better than going back to what they had.
