This may or may not be true, so don't shoot the messenger, but there is a very reliable journalist in the midlands who also supports Norwich (that should narrow it down) who claims that Hughton will probably move to Norwich, should he be deemed the candidate McNally would like. The reason? Ewan Chester. Our former scout who is now at Birmingham. But here's where it gets interesting. He claims Chester, who is highly rated by everyone in football, left Norwich on bad terms due to a falling out with Lambert. He believes he'd follow Hughton to City if he's approached. So that's another person who Lambert allegedly fell out with. Making a habit of this, isn't he?
Very Interesting, Chester was a very good scout and we should welcome him back into the fold. We probably won't find out all the details of whats going on at the moment for years (until Holt has a book ghost written for him). If lambert was becoming a disruptive influence at the club do you reckon that had an effect on our poor run of results toward the end of the season? The club is very guarded about info getting out so i think its hard, if not impossible, to speculate.
I'm a bit cautious about all this 'Lambert fell out with xxxx' stuff. He might have done, but it feels a bit like grasping around to find reasons you are better off without an ex I don't think we will ever find anything out - has anyone here ever seen Wolverine: Origins? I think McNally might turn into Sabretooth and start knocking on the doors of anyone willing to talk.
Somebody said on The Pink'Un the other day that Lambert used to fine any player that didn't call him gaffer. Some serious money gone on Hughton today, so much so that a couple of bookies have suspended betting.
if holt does write a book, i'm putting myself forward to be proof-reader. think of the money i'd make!
I'll charge a nominal fee for every time he uses less when he means fewer and when he uses fewer when he means less.
Does he even know the word 'fewer'? My personal favourite is 'use', when he actually means 'you's' which is already wrong! Oh Holty we love you
I like seeing his twitter comments in the paper, Holt must be very ill with all that [sic] being thrown up!!!!!
there's a lot of us putting our eggs in chris hughton's basket (or words to that effect). it'll be interesting if he doesn't get the gig how we all react!
To be honest I have faith McNally will make the right choice. I'd kick off if it was someone like Steve Bruce or some typical Norwich esque sentimental appointment I'd expect someone like Neil Doncaster to make.
I think, quite simply, we all trust McNally to make the right appointment. Whoever he brings in I'll back fully, and I'd hope everyone else would get behind the new man too. He's got a difficult enough job as it is, without us making it any harder for him! Edit: Thats spooky Northampton! I hadn't seen your comment whilst writing mine, and was even trying to include a Doomy comment but couldn't come up with the name of a particular manager we'd be unhappy with!
I think all Norwich fans will/should 100% back McNally. He'll make the right appointment, really hoping it's Michael Laudrup. Could be risky but I think it's a calculated risk which I think will reap rewards. I would want a manager who is willing to look outside signing players in UK too. I think the only way to replace Holt with the money we get from him is by looking abroad and Mohammed Abdellaoue is an example of that, might be slightly more expensive mind.
Doncaster used to drive me mad just the mention of him and Munby they still do actually. Cheap/Sentimental/Weak/Soppy the criteria's that he would look for, his an animal who needs putting down.
can we stop getting doomcaster's name wrong. in fact, can we just stop talking about him full stop. he's a twat
Can anyone remember who was the supporters prefered choice after Gunn's sacking? I don't think too many of us would've picked Lambo. Actually, I sent a message to a mate who was out of the country when Lambert got the job. Mine read 'It's Lambert', his response 'Who's Lambert?'. We all know to trust McNally. Might be Hughton, might not. Might be a name, might not be. Could be somone we've not even thought of. Of course there can be no guarantees, but we know the risk will be minimised as far as possible because of McNally.
