I didn't have a bet in France today, but I've got to say what on earth was Joseph O'Brien playing at, attempting to come from last to first up the rail in a 20 runner race.
Is there any point in taking a horse all the way over to France, if your just going to do that.*
Everyone heaps praise on JOB for his 2 steering job wins yesterday, in small fields, yet when a horse really requires a good ride, he cocks it up. If I were the owners I'd be pulling rank, and asking for a proper jockey next time

I didn't back him, or any other horse in the race, I was just making an observation

Extremely harsh. He's just turned 19 and is obviously nowhere near the finished article. Every jockey is prone to a shocker every now and then and just because he's under the spotlight so much his questionable rides get slated. I've seen him given plenty of excellent rides. His rides on Camelot and Maarek on Guineas weekend were tremendous.

Totally agree though, was held up miles off the pace and as we saw, and as we knew, he was predictably running on far too late because he needs a mile and a half. That was why I was annoyed, sending him to race over an inadequate trip in a 20 runner lottery turning in.
Joseph O'Brien is a fantastic young jockey though it has to be said. Maybe he ought to have tried to make all instead but IM's troubles lay in the trip really rather than the ride.

What happened to French Fifteen? i did not see the race but that was the horse i was most interested in seeing as have strong doubts about the Newmarket form and wanted to see how he performed today. A rough race and quite a few bad luck stories i hear.

French Fifteen did not stay and he was one of a number of horses that were involved in the scrimmage to get round the final bend. John Gosden’s horse got shoved virtually out to the stands side rail as did Joseph O’Brien’s mount Imperial Monarch, which did well to finish so close. I would not blame O’Brien for that. The Prix Du Jockey Club has become a joke since it was reduced to ten furlongs.
Of the Brits, Most Improved had a good position for most of the race until the last couple of furlongs whilst Ektihaam got squeezed out in the traffic trouble on the turn in.
It is difficult to say whether Godolphin’s Saint Baudolino was unlucky not to win as the Aga Khan’s two runners, Lunayir and Kesampour, avoided most of the trouble and finished in the blanket finish too.
The 2000 Guineas form still looks as bad so the best three-year-old miler probably was not in the field. I wonder what the strategy will be with Parish Hall when he eventually gets on the track.
