Lambert has sold himself short.

I have to agree with CanaryF1, Lambert is on to a winner. He has had 3 years of success, he could struggle to better himself with another season with Norwich, with the top 6/7 positions already locked down in the league, he will never break in to that with Norwich and that pains me to say as a fan. You can see with how tight it was from 7th downwards in the league, it was anyone's for the taking. That's why for Lambert this move makes sense, Villa survived on goal difference last season, anything more than that next year and he will be seen as doing a good job. He's making the right decision for himself and you can't blame him for trying to better himself, granted the way he went about it is unsavory, but that's what success brings in football. Lets all move on, get a new man in with new ideas and we'll get over this as a club. OTBC

In general I pretty much agree, but I'm not sure Villa will be as patient as that. My guess is anything below mid-table safety (achieved comfortably) will begin to bring pressure. Expectations can rise very fast at a club like Villa.
But if he gets it right, he can achieve more there than he can realistically do here.

It's hard to say what Villa's expectations will be. Their owner is less predictable. Lambert has left a club that was run by a lady that would bleed for her club to join a club run by a yank who does not have the same passion and loyalty. Lambert could get a nasty shock if results don't go his way from the get go. Whereas at Norwich he would have most likely been supported through a really bad run in form.

Same could be said of Rodgers at Liverpoo.

Dave Whelan recently said that when Wigan played there, there was NOBODY in the boardroom! A club with no heart or soul.

This is what happens when you have foreign investors.

If that ever happens to us, I'm out.

Morning lads

I can not for the life of me understand lamberts logic in wanting to go to the vile, he will have very little if any money to spend there, the club is up ****e creek big time, and he swaps his position at your club where he is enjoying god like status and over the last few years he has built up his reputation as one of the leading young managers in the country, and he puts that on the line to manage a club who very nearly went through the trap door last season and unless the vile has some major investment put in to it will go through the trap door next season, i really hope that you find a manager that will continue the very good work being done at your club, and good luck.

<ok>

Thanks, and good luck to you guys too.

The picture of Rodgers with the 'You'll never walk alone' scarf made me want to vomit. God knows how you lot felt.

It's the way of the world for clubs of our size. Still, we haven't done too badly, have we? <ok>

The article on the BBC football website pretty much confirms my suspicion.Villa is a stepping stone.It will be interesting to watch Lambert and Rodger's trajectory from here on.My guess 2016/17 season Lambert - Old Trafford, Rodgers - Liberty Stadium.
