It is not the end of the world as some seem to believe! With the seemingly probable departures of Lambert and Holt many seem to believe this is the end of any chance of success for Norwich city. We have had good managers and players in the past and as with any club they do come and go. This should be viewed as an opportunity for the club to push on and continue their success, after all it is just 2 people that are leaving not the whole squad! It is an exciting time where we will see huge changes and hopefully for the better. McNally appointed Lambert seemingly from nowhere with great success so hopefully he will do the same again, and who knows the new manager maybe exactly what the club needs to push on and he maybe even better then Lambert. We signed Holt while we were in league 1 and while he proved fantastic value we are now in the premiership and have the ability to attract higher calibre players who may well exceed what Holt has done for the club.

While we should not discount what these two have done for the club this is an exciting time where through enforced change we may actually benefit as a club. In part these 2 have helped us climb the leagues and put us in a healthier position for brining in talented individuals to help the club grow further. Its not the end of the world, the club will continue to exist and in many ways this is a very exciting time for the team.

well said tipsy. honestly, i totally understand the initial disappointment because it is the end of an era to a degree, but we have such a good team and with the right appointment and some decent signings we could actually do better than last season. nothing lasts forever and there are more important things in life than who plays for norwich. a close friend of mine had a miscarriage last night - that's trauma; not your star striker wanting more money and us not being able to afford it <ok>
 
Is anyone else a bit relieved that it's finally over- I couldn't help but feel jittery every time another prem manager got sacked. Now, at least, we don't get that. We can brush ourselves down and move on to the next chunk of NCFC history.
 
To be honest I think most people - certainly those on here anyway - are being very positive and philosophical about this week's events and where we go from here. It's definitely a case of 'exciting times ahead' from where I'm sitting, players and managers come and go but the club will carry on regardless.

Just remember when Hucks was released, it seemed like an end of an era to a lot of folk at the time but it seems a lifetime ago already and it was only three years!

I agree on here the view is generally a philosophical one but certainly not elsewhere. You are correct, football changes so fast really very few players and managers stay anywhere for any length of time. Put people leaving just opens up an opportunity for others to succeed

So your saying that, so Player A sees player B leave to say double his wages, won't then think i could be having some of that and asks the board for more money which in turn they will refuse, so in turn will say well if you won't somebody else will!

Are you saying in all definate probability that will not happen, if you are you more misguided then i give you crdit for.

I seem to remember that you said you would piss yourself if anybody would mention Lambert going to Villa. that alone just proves your gulliable to think that footballers are loyal and money doen't come into it!

as i say, you're so desperate for our house fall in on itself you'll claim anything. our players are under contract and if anyone wants to leave we'll get enormous sums of money for them to buy new players with. you don't seem to understand that most of us aren't particularly worried by the events of the past couple of days. yes we are a bit concerned but these things happen in football - its just football - and we are hardly lacking much to get things moving in the right direction. if we'd just been relegated and he'd left i'd be a bit more worried but we've got another season of top flight football to enjoy. oh, and i think i was perfectly within my rights to 'piss myself' at the thought of villa taking our manager. they'd just cut their wage bill by half, had no transfer funds without selling and had the worst team i'd seen all season. things change though. i bet the colchester fans pissed themselves at the thought lambert would go to the team they'd just beaten 7-1...

This just proved that your not correct all the time as you think you are, there is obviously soemthing going on that is not all rosie behind the scenes.
 
Look muppet not EVERYONE is motivated by money. I am on a relatively low wage for an IT God and it's safe to say that I would treble my salary minimum if I so desired, it would involve commuting or moving house. I am VERY happy living in rural North Norfolk and as such I am more than happy to stay on my low wages and enjoy the hours and environment in which I live!!!

i really don't know what you think you are going to achieve guru. whoopdy-doo; i got it wrong about villa initially. i doubt i was alone. i saw liverpool as the threat so i can hardly claim i wasn't expecting lambert to be tempted elsewhere! liverpool's loss is villa's gain. go into ANY workplace and if you find a perfectly harmonious atmosphere throughout then i'd be surprised. there is always going to be elements of discontent but at norwich it has been kept to a minimum because of success. one or two may have outgrown the club - they move on - you won't find me crying into my bovril. life goes on <ok>
