I have to agree that getting a replacement in is something that should be rushed, though I would hope we have our new manager before the end of June. If IC and GK aren't going to follow PL, then I'd like to see them given a chance to show what they can do. Poyet is a good choice. <cheers>
 
How about a new name to throw into the mix :-
Michael Laudrup
Guy has managed in Spains top league, and would have considerable contacts within Europe. OK no experience of managing in England, but I think he would have the right approach for us, and would further develop our young squad. Money wise he may be out of our league, but I think the opportunity of managing in the PL would be a great temptation.
 
Hughton any day of week! 10 years of assistant manager at Spurs watching some right royal **** up's so he knows the territory which go's with the Prem, then battling it out of the Championship with Newcastle earning a promotion and turning Birmingham City into a half decent championship team when they had the momentum to drop down the table at an accelerated rate.
 
Powell won't leave Charlton, he's an Addick through and through and he'll be loving the project he's got going on there.

I'm not so keen on Poyet, as attractive as his style of play is Brighton have become a bit one dimensional and he appears to have no concept of resorting to a plan B. A good mate of mine is a Seagulls fan and was sitting not far behind the dug out at a game last season when they were a goal down in the last few minutes. Their centre-half lumped it forward into the opposition box and Poyet gave him a right bollocking and ordered him to keep the ball on the deck at all times - or words to that effect.

He's still fairly new to management though so it's probably harsh of me and no doubt he will learn and improve along the way so I'm not saying he'd be a bad shout - same with Hughton - but if I had my choice it wouldn't be either of them.
 
How about Bob Granite..
Up and coming manager but a big jump to the english prem but then again Lambert was an unknown until you lot.
I think you'll find it hard to find a decent manager to take over from probably the best you have ever had cos we're still looking for Sir Bobbys replacement, it's not going well...

I placed a bet on Karl Robinson, was something like 33/1 so was worth it, could be a nice little return if he become your manager, what are your thoughts.

Great suggestion!

An incredible player- Cruyff and others said he was one of the best of all time. Given that he was happy to work for a struggler in the La Liga (and did incredibly), I don't see why he wouldn't be interested. He worked on a ridiculously tight budget at Mallorca too.

..........laudrup is a very interesting proposition, would welcome his appointment above nearly every other name mentioned on this thread. deff not malky, just a one speed championship manager.
