i don't see norwich fans assuming anything! it's you who makes the assumptions. we all feel that we are not doomed, simply because our manager has left - i see no reason to think thats not an appropriate response! we may struggle, we may improve, but they are scenarios which could have played out under lambert too

That's a good and true observation IMO. And a much better position to be in than being reliant on one or two stand out performers. You might lose one or two players as that's the name of the game, but they'll be easier to replace than a couple of individuals carrying the team.

Good luck on your next appointment. It is much better to lose your manager when in the premiership than in the championship (obviously), we found that out this season when we moved up several levels from Colin to Sparky. Who's to say you won't too? Just don't go for the usual rejects like Bruce! The ones Superman lined up in his thread could be perfect. And with the compensation you get from Lambert you're half way to pricing Hughton from B'ham who would be my pick for you, seems like a match made in heaven to me. Good luck <ok>

Personally I have no issue with PL leaving. If he wants to go then it is everyone's best interests to let him go. There are other decent young managers available and hopefully we will get one of them. I am also hopeful we will play next season with a more settled team and formation (something I was critical of PL for).

What goes around comes around budgerigars! Without LAMBCHOPS all you’ve got is a bunch of lower league players. I cannot tell you how amazing I feel right now, I simply can’t wait to see you collapse back down to League One.

    ‘AVE IT HARD BUDGIES!! <ok>

More or less exactly what I said a few weeks ago when rumours of his departure first reared its ugly head. IMHO, he got his team selection wrong on a few occasions and the home game against Liverpool was one such example!!!!

Hearing a few people questioning some of Lambert's selection decisions, let's remember he is a young manager who is learning himself. You can't really question the guys talent based on what he as achieved for us.

Agreed. The longer the season went on the more critical I became about his tactics, team selections etc. There were always two ways of looking at it and they are both right up to a point. Many said we survived (well 12th is a hell of a survival) and I cannot argue with that but on the other side of the coin, could we have done even better by not rotating the team so much most weeks?

I do not mean to come over as saying "that christ he's gone" as that is far from the truth. I am not exactly happy about it but we now have to move on. He has taken us back to where Leeds United belong <laugh> and for that I thank him <ok>

Whilst I'd love to think he and McNally will sort out whatever has gone on, it seems rather unlikely he'll still 'officially' be here by this afternoon.
However, with or without Lambert, the club is in the best shape it's been in for the best part of twenty years. We are going to be an attractive destination for a lot of managers. If it's handled properly, we have more reason to be excited about the possibilities, than to be intimidated by a Lambert-less club.

Lambert has been wonderful for us and I wish him all the best for the future. We couldn't have wished for anyone to do a better job than he has.

I do wonder, though, if both he and Brendan Rodgers may have moved too soon. I totally understand their desire to move on, and the possibilities at both Liverpool and Villa (if Lambo goes there) are big. But, with big possibilities comes big expectations, and there exsits at both those clubs a belief they should be winning things right now. I wonder if there will ultimately be enough patience from all concerned to see the job through.
