We've got a dodgy Clip art lion badge 'designed' to get copyright control.

How can someone destroy our historical badge and claim it is for copyright reasons, yet it is clearly based on a piece of clipart <grr>

i don't get all this stuff with your badge,or am i missing something <ok>

Our present one looks ****, has no link to the club's history and heritage and the lion in the middle is taken from clip-art.

The loggerheads one on Matster's and my profile is unique to the county/town, and has been the most prominent badge for the club throughout its history.

I appreciate it will have its fans, but I'd say the majority prefer the loggerheads.

I think a compromise is the way forward, and I would love either of those two designs. They look great, although the "STFC" as well as the "Shrewsbury Town Football Club" annoys me. That is another bug-bearer of mine with the current badge, is there any way a "Floreat Salopia" could be worked into it? I appreciate these are possibly not your designs, but that's just my feedback.

didn't mean to be offensive, and i do now know where you are coming from.<ok>

i do not like either of the badges, they are a travesty of our original loggerheads badge, they look like a cross between a lion and a leopard. ugh! i also agree with kds, now is not the time for replacing clippy. the club has said no, they need to be persuaded in say 3 to 5 years time and given time to shift the pile of old tat in the club shop

Not this again. There are far more worrying things to be concerned about like rumoured detrimental changes in the board room and surrounds.

Much as I respect you and your opinions KDS, I can't see how we can do anything about the issues around changes in our board. We know nothing of the reasons behind the potential changes, although the health of certain people is rumoured to be a key issue.

As for the badge, it's an issue which a lot of people feel very strongly about, and it isn't going away.

If the club are presented with alternatives which are considerably better than our present badge in the opinion of the majority, and are provided with funds for the changing of the badge by virtue of fundraising activities and donations from those who wish for the badge to be changed, then it is not going to distract the chairmen - 'tis but the work of a moment to sanction the change. It's hardly going to prevent the club from signing players, and will increase revenue for the club with more people purchasing items from the undersized club shop.

Also deeply concerning is why we have not been promoted on Not 606 yet.

This is a big worry. I quite agree, especially considering Pompey have already been moved!

The trouble is that I do not have any particularly strong opinions on the subject of the badge. Unfortunately it is something that no one is going to change just like we have no say in the board or running of the club.

What does concern me is that people can get their knickers in so much of a twist over something that in the great scheme of things is quite trivial.

It is much more important to get aeriated over the running of the club even though there is nothing we can do, but the topic is much more relevant. We lose the public face of the board maybe through ill health but we also appear to have lost the close relationship of the main backer and by all accounts a natural succeesor to RW when he chooses to retire.

I thought that the club's statement just showed their understandable exasperation at the return of a done to death topic during a time of great celebration.

mistakes were made when picking the current badge, not enough thought was put into it. It would have been a good idea at the time to have a few designs and let the fans vote to pick the winner. My favourite badge was the 1980s version. We have now had the current one for 4 years and although alot of people would prefer the loggerheads, the club have expained why the badge was changed. In my opinion i'm really not bothered about it. I think all this badge buisness is poor timing, we have just had a very successful season and been promoted and about to sign new players for our league 1 campaign and all some people can go on about is changing the badge. As KDS has said there are more important things going on within the club at the moment for them to worry about this. Sorry if I have offended any of the badge brigade, but I support the team & the club and when buying items in the club shop I want the club to benefit from this.:steam:

I like the old badge, I live with the current badge, but would like if feasible to see a developed badge come in at the right time. Financially now is not probably the right time to do it, I'd rather see players or the west gate/path sorted out!!
